Started watching bc of the high rating.. And dropped after episode 6... it is so borriiinggg and i do not see…
I do hope you continue watching....I did the same as you but reviews got me picking it up again and I was fully hooked by episode 20 onwards....I watched the rest of 50 episodes in 2 days!! For me a Picky romance lover placed this drama as a whole in my top 3!! One of the few dramas I had strong withdrawal symptoms on when it ended. I am currently rewatching it as well for the fourth time.....only just have to skip the beginning this time around :)

I ended up rewatching the second half straight after cause I had strong withdrawal symptoms lol One other that I found very similar...from the slow beginning to great chemistry afterwards, length and not to mention Smart & scheming Main lead is the drama .....Story of Yanxi Palace
What happened to Wei Xing Shou (the prostitute friend of the ML)? Who did she leave with at the end?
Wei Xingshou from what I know was an undercover of the Queen Mother. She was smart, originally Gu Tingye’s friend then later his confident while also spying for the Queen Mother....she came to admire him as a person and calculate the overall political situation and from what I know chose not to betray him. That’s why in the end she paid for her freedom and left the brothel in secret around the time the Queen Mother’s coup was starting. She left with a poor scholar Du Xiucai. He’s identity was never revealed completely....but I think it could be one of the 2- her brother or - just a poor scholar lover which can explained why Prostitute Wei never care to demand more from her powerful costumers.
So I decided to watch it after seeing the high ratings and so far it bores me so much. I am currently on episode…
Sounded like me when I started this drama....dropped once because I was confused and kept checking who were actually the main leads but then reviews got me going again and by episode 15 I was kinda hooked and from episode 20 onwards I finished it in 2 days! No joke you won’t regret it...one of the best couple in dramas I’ve seen!
When does the good stuff start? This drama's beginning is so slow, that it makes me fall asleep ^^' But I try…
For me it started around maybe episode 20 onwards when they met up again....but highly recommend watching the beginning still....although it’s slow it does contribute to the rest of the drama. Besides there are still some good schemes with grandma before then to enjoy.
I'm really interested in this but the fl is soo annoying, why does she keep getting those kind of characters?…
Yeah I really want to watch this but I really don’t like the FL....not because she’s a bad actor but I just don’t enjoy her in any of her roles...gave her another chance and finished another one of her drama yesterday and I now pretty much set my mind to not watching anymore of her work.
Don’t get why everyone hating on FL!!!? Haven’t finish this drama so far but honestly don’t think she’s doing such a bad job... and I’ve seen her in Ms. Hammurabi as well and now I’m wondering if I saw the same show as everyone else cause “hate” is such a strong word to describe what I think isn’t even a problem. Heck I think she acts better than most actresses ppl praised in any Asian dramas....probably her only fault is that she’s not really good in romance/chemistry Department. Even more ridiculous is that someone mentioned her eyes colour and that she’s not good for the roles ! And Judging from the progress of reviews it looked like someone wrote a bad review which is fair enough but then some follow suit criticising any bad move she made and overlooking the rest. But that’s my opinion...I’ve seen her in 3 dramas so far and although they aren’t my fav or memorable but I certainly don’t think it was bad considering I was able to watch them in a flow without thinking that she was annoying or terrible during it.
4th time rewatching!!! Soooo good! Although I skipped a few episodes in the beginning this time and got straight to the good stuff! Can honestly say the best costume romance drama.

Still one of my favs and like you my interest in costume dramas is not that high. Beginning is a bit slow and it’s one of those dramas that gets better and better towards the end! The romance is also a highlight and better yet the couple got together in real life and got married

But I don’t why with this drama I pretty much love everything about it....from FL character growth, her cute revenge, sexy body ML, their work and her friendships. Love how FL won nearly everyone over by just being herself. Although close intimacy wasn’t fact, I greatly enjoy the good chemistry between the leads as they got to know each other. And that’s coming from someone who likes serious adult romance in a drama!
What sucks is that it ended and also with promises for more.....cause this drama has so much potential for more seasons, and since it came out years ago my excitement just died a little knowing that if they haven’t announced it by now then what exactly are the chances here especially if Magna isn’t completed? But still happy I didn’t skip this drama....this is defitnily a feel good drama
Shouldn’t have read so many reviews before watching this.... ML is not as bad as most ppl made him out to be since you can clearly see he was a decent guy but he’s bad mark was what he did out of jealousy anger which may I add is still no excuse....and FL didn’t forgave so easily as some mentioned since she made her feelings clear after the betrayal. But I do agree with the amt of toxic in this drama but from the irritating aunt and the rest of the no self respect women around ML! Overall I liked it since everything had a proper ending & justice.
An okay watch...his obsessive behaviours In the beginning wasn’t so bad, especially when you see character growth from his side...maybe a little weird due to the fact he’s a monk. Come to think about it he’s whole family being monks is a little weird lol What gets me Iffy here is what I hate in every romance drama....interruptions during x moments! Really was hoping for deeper but if romantic comedy is your thing then you’ll enjoy this.

But highlight are some of the comedy moments where I think I laughed more than I should lol and that’s coming from someone who rarely laugh out loud in any drama! Especially the introduction scene to the kimchi women in front of the shop lol
Unlike other dramas featuring obsessive partners (eg. Love in Sadness or Let me Introduce Her) for me this one was much better in the sense that the husband obsessively loved her for her alone.....there was no other side reason like she looks or reminds him of someone else. It was purely love at first sight for him! Perhaps that’s why the ending worked well here because although he was extremely manipulative, obsessive, controlling and not to forget very territorial with the FL he never physically abuse her, instead he takes his anger out on everything or anybody else even killing or get rid of anything that dares harm her. He puts her first above everyone else, never looked anywhere else & even harming anyone that stands in his way of obtaining her. I like the fact that he never forces her whenever she denies him privileges and goes to great lengths to try to hide his dark side from her. Maybe that’s why the FL was oblivious to who he really was for so long. Overall the obsession here was still a bit much for my taste since I like a bit of fluffiness in my dramas but it still worth the watch for the reasons above and violence love towards FL is where I draw the line. Probably the best drama I’ve seen with this topic so far.

Honestly I haven’t watched it but I’m checking it out as I’m interested in plot description...when I saw the cast i knew I wasn’t gonna like it and the reasons are exactly what you just mentioned. I’ve seen and dropped every show the FL has stared in cause she may be pretty but she always come across as a kid and frail even when she plays high school roles. And although ML is a good actor he looks too young for me to enjoy this. I saw the trailer and all I can think of was that the Leads are so wrong for the plot. What a shame...maybe because I’m in my late 20s and now prefer realistic romances with the right age
Sung Joon is such a bae....honestly I love a good love triangle if a drama presents it, but this one didn’t really do anything for me. I’ll admit there’s good chemistry but then it’s Sung Joon, so cant really question that when he’s kisses can melt you.
