Only Shen had real power; General She was going to abdicate and Master Du was rising but not truly powerful yet…
Dude, you're totally missing my point. What I'm saying is, if someone could get the Li family to swear loyalty or control them, imagine it may be one of the princes to the throne or a really powerful guy who wanted to take down the current king. The Li family would be a major target. If you can control them, it gives you a massive edge in the whole situation. Do you think it is so hard to get him back his tiger seal if something like this on the play? A respectable marriage and nobility? Those are just concepts created by those in power to maintain their control and keep everything within their little circle. you are thinking way too simply my friend, A king has to constantly manage the balance of power, and the best way to do that is to prevent too much power from being concentrated in one spot. Just look at how rulers in this era tend to wipe out entire families when things go sideways. it’s the same deal. You can't ignore any place where power is gathering, no matter the reason. just like you can't let them live due to the slightest possible risks.

You are wrong about that. you have to think of them as a single entity, not just a couple of families with a bit of power. You might think Du isn’t powerful yet, but I believe he’s got enough sway in the court as a young officer. Just look at that scene with the hat dialogue, it really highlights his influence. High-ranking officials with highly respected ones can be a real headache for the king. And what about that Shen guy? Do you really think he doesn’t have power? People definitely think twice before crossing him. They’re not just some random folks, those with influence know better than to mess with him. As for Pan, he’s not just your average merchant. He’s probably the wealthiest guy around, with a wild card he can play to get out of trouble or save someone else from capital offence. Plus, there’s that newly discovered son who is a renowned general from the borders. If a king overlooks stuff like this, he is putting his neck on a chopping board in no time. That’s why kings are careful about letting power gathered in one place because even if they don’t want to act against him, someone will eventually push them into a tough spot. so unless the king is a clown, he would never let that family be alone. it's better to take out a sprout than bothering to take down a massive tree. Also, don’t assume that generals lose their power simply because they choose to step down. Real history shows us that’s not really how it goes down.

so the simple conclusion Li family wields influence over at least one border city’s army with a famous general, a crazy amount hidden of wealth or should I say indirect wealth, and a good growing influence over courts, along with a pardon card yet to be used. if you are the king and not concerned... damn good luck, I would say...!!!
On Perfect Match Feb 12, 2025
Honestly, I wasn't a fan of the ending. It seemed like they could've taken their time with it, and it felt a bit rushed. Also, it was a bit weird because none of them had to marry into the royal family. The Li family gathered so much powerhouse in a single place I doubt any king would just let them be without some sort of tie to keep them in check. They either need to be tied up with royalty or get ready to be wiped out.

I’m not here to take sides, whether it’s the guys or the girls. But when I came across that comment about people living in a fantasy, I had to pause. She’s just trying to find a decent guy, right? Do you really believe that? They’re specifically after a guy from a humble background who can rank within the top 3 on exams. It is more likely they want to latch onto someone who can become powerful before he makes it big. Honestly, that’s a bit delusional as well. Just look at history how often does a guy from a humble background pull off something like that without being sly and manipulative? And if he is manipulative, do you think he’d marry her unless he truly loves her? If they’re just after a decent guy from a good family, there are tons of choices out there. No need to get into so much trouble.

i truly dont understand why people are being that hard on this one, it has barely been 8 episodes ... we have…
It's pretty simple, you need to ditch all logic to enjoy this. Take that scene where they plot against the king's favourite concubine's brother. Seriously, what universe allows them to escape that so easily? We're dealing with real power dynamics here. If something scandalous went down in the family, they'd likely erase the problem instead of seeking justice and embarrassing themselves. Justice is the last resort when there are no other options left. So, I mean most people find it hard to do that.

Seriously, that Fate dude is just the dumbest character ever. The way fate is set up in this story makes it something absolute, so when he tries to save her, does it even make a difference? I mean, he tried that whole saving thing 10,000 years ago. Yet did it actually work out, or did they just get trapped in the same loop and start right back again. This guy really needs to get his act together and just chill. Whether Chaos Pearl loves him or whatever, since he is human and one day bound to die, she’ll eventually find her way back. What he really should focus on is keeping her alive in the meantime.

I never understand why people down rate a drama just because the ending made them sadI mean a sad ending isn't…
Do you call this a sad ending after watching the last few minutes? I think it’s one of the worst endings any drama could have. Do you really grasp what it means for Huo Zhan Bai to die from ageing but still hold onto her? This guy is one of the top martial masters out there, which means he’s got a ton of internal energy that lets him live a really long time. So if he’s dying of old age, we’re talking at least a couple of hundred years. Can you even imagine someone missing a dead person for over a century? Just imagine how agonizing it must have been to the very last moment in his life and yet he still couldn't let go of her.

Bravo FL 💪🏼Love a brave Woman! She had that King, Queen, Ministers, and 2nd Prince Shook. The way she took…
I get that it seems impressive, but honestly, this whole thing about controlling the army is just ridiculous. I mean, she literally stabbed the army's general right in front of his troops and then waved around the token he gave her and ordered them to listen to her! It’s just insane! Sure, military orders are one thing, but if someone took out the general who’s been protecting them through all those battles after battles, I bet most of those soldiers would jump at the chance to take her down instead of following her.

Not sure about the express package, but I just watched episode 35 for about 5 minutes before giving up. The subtitles were all over the place and the quality was terrible, so I decided to hold off and not ruin my viewing experience.

Honestly, I think they are eating this in whole. They've cut out so many details that it barely feels the same as what's described in the novel. maybe due to the 40 episodes cap that was put by the government. but even though...

For example, Rather than simply stating that she knows SRQ better, and then going to find PWX, In the novel, she recounts an incident from her past life, allowing the viewer to understand why she believes SRQ is a venomous snake hiding behind the guise of an innocent, gentle young man. And why she fear so much to put PWX's life in the hands of SRQ.

Yeah, I see your point. This character is designed to keep us puzzled until the end, much like Luo Yun Xi's character in Princess Silver. But in this case, it's quite obvious that SRQ is not up to anything good and is living in a fantasy.

Rong Rong: Yes I am... 🥰

Oh my goodness, I just got butterflies in my stomach! and then,

PWX: How Dare you...!!! 👿 and slam Rong Rong to the wall. (I was like, hey my dude, don't touch my princess like that. I'm freaking against it)
Rong Rong: How Dare YOU to treat me like that?? 😾😾😾

Then again,

PWX: I am sorry, but I can't bear to let any other man near you... 😥😔

Damn, I want the freaking next episode... I don't know why I am torturing myself without waiting till the drama ends.

Title The Princess Royal Spoiler

Let me fill you in on the real deal. Her own brother, Li Chuan, ordered the poisoning of Li Rong, with Shangguan Ya and Su Rong Qing carrying out the dirty work. They're in cahoots and want both siblings dead. The reason behind Li Chuan wanting his sister dead is a whole other conspiracy that's too complicated to explain here. Now you know who's behind the murder. The question is, how did things end up like this? It all goes back to the Su family's foolishness. Currently, everyone knows that Shangguan Ya is involved with Su Rong Hua. In their past life, she becomes the empress, but Li Chuan doesn't care about her. Even though she's the empress, she secretly maintains her relationship with Su Rong Hua. Eventually, she gets pregnant, and Li Chuan, who only has eyes for Qin Zhen Zhen, won't sleep with Shangguan Ya. They can't hide their affair, so Su Rong Hua decides to plot against Qin Zhen Zhen and gets her killed so Shangguan Ya can pass off her child as Li Chuan's. Li Chuan will never be able to admit that her child is not his because it will be such a humiliation for the emperor himself. Li Chuan is no idiot eventually, he finds out everything and wipes out the entire Su family for taking Qin Zhen Zhen away from him. At this point, Li Rong comes to plead for Su Rong Qing's life, and Li Chuan spares him out of fear of retaliation and rebellion against him. Isn't it strange that he castrated him out of all the punishment out there? it was to show his anger and determination to humiliate him. Poor Li Rong is clueless about all of this. That's the tragic part of the story.

I know exactly why Li Chuan would want to take such extreme measures against his family. They totally deserve it, and I don't blame him one bit. Can Su Rong Qing even think about seeking revenge after what the Su family did to Li Chuan? It's just too shameless.
