While reading the web novel, I somehow visualised WYF to look like her and imagine my pleasant surprise when she was the one who got cast to play the role too 🤭

She is! I saw her in "a date with the future" before this and liked her in it ☺️

Episode 10 is such a sweet episode and one of ones that I have been waiting to watch! The scene where they try to recreate the sleepwalk "kiss" is so full of tension thin enough to be cut with a knife... no wonder WYF kept thinking about it to a point where she ended up really kissing him during her next sleepwalk 🤭

My heart goes out to WYF and the additional pain and suffering she has endured after her father passing away... ZRN does a fabulous job of bringing WYF's character to life... her soft warmth, her involuntary attraction towards SY and her trauma every time the aunt makes an appearance (the aunt deserved to have something more broken apart from just her phone for the kind of insane treatment she doled out to WYF during her school years).

SY, my guy, the chicken soup part of episode 10 had me so emotional not just due to WYF's visit to her father's grave but also the fact that SY remembered, paid his respects and worries about WYF too. Man is so ready to ask WYF to "give his kiss back" when she finally wakes up 🤣

I am so waiting for Sang Yan to beat up WYF's paternal aunt's brother for the pain and harassment he caused to WYF and consequently him... if not for the disgusting existing of that man, these two could have started dating years ago and attended Nanwu University together too. The mother is the root cause of all issues for me here, however much she may care for WYF it will never be enough, she will never be her first priority, she never was even when WYF went through hell and back... only SY had her back 😭

He is a college senior who is infatuated with WYF, joins her place of work as an intern... tries to get with WYF but realises that SY and WYF are dating so stops trying... at one point kinda saves her life... not a bad guy basically :)

Finished episode 9 and the story just keeps getting better... them watching the horror movie remains such a comic scene especially the one in present time 🤭... BJT does such an amazing job of comically subtly expressing SY's fear of the horror genre, ZRN is such a cutie as WYF while humouring SY while they watch the movie 😂 The grocery shopping scene exudes such domesticity of them as a couple shopping together 🥰 Sang Yan's territorial side is so entertaining to watch with Mu Cheng Yun's entry into their lives while WYF keeps peeking at him while holding on to her stance of "the past is in the past" . Sang Yan trying to be subtle while catering to her needs and taking care of her because she said she was sick of him while rejecting him is painful but also endearing at the same time... the man remembers his first love and everything about her so vividly, while WYF accidentally blurted out about women holding their first love dear to their hearts 😏

There are also things that her aunt's brother says during the SA that makes her feel less worthy of Sang Yan and that maybe he deserves someone better than her, after the traumatic experience that she had

They approve of her already! 🤭 🤭

I blinked and ep. 8 finished 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😭

Poor Sang Yan, my guy couldn't sleep the whole night all because of a hug from WYF 🤣
It is so endearing to see that WYF has always viewed SY as a ball of sunshine and warmth in the darkness that her life came to be, I am sure she was equally if not more hurt than SY when she applied for Yihe instead of Nanwu ...
The love triangle was so unnecessary, now I really feel they shouldn't have changed the original dynamics of their group... it was so wholesome and sweet... WYF's found family when she had no one else... hope SHA x ZSQ works out and that XL finds his happiness with someone else

SY travelling to Beiyu to meet WYF after her uncle's family shifted there must have helped WYF so much, especially at a time when she felt suffocated in that household... the mother's behaviour and the audacity of her aunt to shamelessly ask her to invest in her son's marital home after everything she and her family did to her was so irritating to watch... and also most probably the reason why her sleepwalking started again... can't wait for tomorrow's episodes !

Bai Jing Ting is so good at emoting and his expressions are always so good... the funny scenes are funnier because of the way he expresses SY's feelings 😂 and the angst scenes are painful because of him too... his eyes, my god 🔥

Zhang Ruo Nan is exactly how I imagined WYF to be - strong, independent, beautiful, warm & loving to her dear ones, resilient and quiet. She looks so beautiful as a ballerina too, I don't blame SY one bit for looking mesmerised while watching her practice 😆

Loving the slow burn romance between SY and WYF !! Sang Zhi as her brother's wingwoman is the cutest 😂. SHA x ZSQ have so much couple potential, I really like this addition to the drama script. I hope Xiang Lang finds his happiness too 😬... the webnovel showed him as just a friend but the drama makes me feel he should prep himself for heartbreak if he really does have feelings for WYF.

Bai Jing Ting as the heartbroken tsundere in love does a wonderful job in FF as Sang Yan... my heart goes out to him and WYF for their struggles and sufferings... WYF especially! Even after all the trials and tribulations that she has suffered, to come out still standing strong and independent is no mean feat to achieve. Her father must be so proud of her! Her mother on the other hand... never mind 😒

When SY responded "Yihe" to the last city he'd flown to... that instrumental background music coupled with SY's heartbroken look at WYF who was also trying to control her emotions is such a beautiful scene indicating the angst that they'd been through!

I don't like it either but the schedule says that 😭

The people she lived with after her father passed away are her grandmother and then her father's brother's family
As an adult she was living in a share house with other people.

I am already dreading the days after episode 10 when we only get one episode 😭

6 episodes and I want more already... express option please 🤓, I know it's early... but still ! Bai Jing Ting and Zhang Ruo Nan are the perfect lead cast for First Frost, I love that they match Sang Yan and Wen Yi Fan's personalities from the webnovel 🥹... I should have waited for more episodes to release but here I am starting on the day of its release, have waited for this for so long. Sang Yan from HL and Sang Yan from FF display very different facets of who Sang Yan really is and I hope anybody wondering why Victor Ma didn't get casted in FF understands that 🥰

Also, the OST is already such a banger, with Mayday, Silent Wang, Zhang Bichen and Bai Jing Ting on it.... I'm going to listen to some more of the soundtrack ! 🩵🩵🩵

Spent some time reeling from the after-effects of the show, staring at the ceiling and repeatedly going back to re-watch episodes... and I am still not done! Somebody give me back my Love Next Door couple and some 50-odd more episodes already !! 😭 😫😞
