It wasn't just one comment. But you are his fan and as such, you prefer to make excuses rather than accept that what he said was discriminatory and demeaning. There are/were hundreds of sexists/misogynists who used "it's part of my culture" as a shield. Understanding the cultural context and justifying it do not go hand in hand.
