Please. I hate it so much when people insinuate that people who dislike a drama are stupid. The only stupid thing is that kind of statement.

This is great! Like Kingdom, I love that they try to explain the beginning of the disease because that's the biggest gap in many "zombie" movies/series. I love that the residents are also making stupid decisions, lol. IMO, that's a more realistic interpretation rather than going fully cruel and murderous. Just think of how many people do foolish, unimaginable things during covid.

The telling part? He's the main cast. That explains a lot imo. If he's not, then they lose an opportunity, lol. Making him the killer seems to be the balanced amout of unexpected (as we like him) and reasonable (instead of making it someone random).

After Strangers from Hell, I can't unsee Lee Dong Wook as a murderer/villain. He's perfect for that role.

I mean why don't they amplify the effects from Dawon's death instead of introducing that festival and the random politician? They could do it for the next episode instead as an intro to the next act. They try so hard to gauge interest/curiosity but they never let the viewers process the story/emotion. Excuse me, I want to grief??

What makes Jirisan confusing is they divide the acts or events between two episodes. We get the information on the first, then the resolution on the next (that sometimes feel anti-climatic) but on that episode they already introduced a new sub-plot. I think it'd be less confusing for those who binge-watch this. I'm still watching though. In general, I like the show but it's not flawless.

A bit disappointed because the ep starts on 20 min marks but the wildfire scenes make up for it. It's amazing to the point that even though you're reluctant to watch the whole series, that part can be a great stand-alone episode. I hope they won't repeat the exposition (seeing visions, how the stones work, etc) many times. Jirisan, fighting!

I can't believe no one street-casted Yi Gang to be an actress or idol. That's more unrealistic than the CGI, lol.

The event depicted in this series is too similar to the Tokyo subway sarin attack in March 1995 and the cult resembles Aum Shinrikyo which is also the organisation behind the attack. I think it's a bit problematic turning a recent tragedy, when the victims and the victims' relatives most likely are still alive, into an inspiration for a drama. They just changed the settings from Japan to Korea. Using someone else's trauma to earn profit without raising awareness about the issue (like Youth of May did to the Gwangju uprising) doesn't sit well with me. Honestly, I also have an internal debate on enjoying this drama, but it's not related to the scandal.

The drama doesn't deserve the rating. When will people learn that a production doesn't only involve one person but dozens, maybe hundreds, others? Actors, lighting directors, cinematographers, editors... Unlike a painting that's made by a single artist, a movie comprises many artists who work together. It's unjust to judge it based on one bad person and negate the labour of the other good people. If it's because of the story, then it's okay, but if it's because of the scandal that isn't directly related to the story, please be more mindful in judging the work. Still. I couldn't rate it higher because...

Lol after reading the comments I understand why they don't make dramas about wilderness. But this is just right up my alley.

This drama is so fresh!!! At a time when I better not go outside, seeing the landscape heals me. It's been long--or the first time?--since I saw a K-drama about the wilderness. I enjoy it a lot.

Only 6 episodes? SIGN ME UP.

Anyway, I'm going to be upset if Jihyuk is the main villain and that's just it, lol. I hope they can offer more. The way the characters repeatedly say, "Don't trust anyone," is like they say it to the viewers which means don't trust the narrator. And what does The Black Sun (Kor title) mean? Maybe he's a black NIS agent too.

At this point, they should stop adding new characters. I'm here for the mystery and the gore, but I don't care if everyone dies because I don't feel connected to anyone in the show, even the main character. No reason to root for him, and everyone is one-dimensional.

As someone who has ADHD I always put my K-Drama around 1.5-2x speed! The 1.5x speed doesn't sound strange at all to me, they indeed speak slowly. The only language that can match my attention span is Spanish movies.

Yes, his answer is very petty. The other director can easily says, "Same with me. I had the idea first but the movie only came into production at year blablabla." Idea isn't copyrighted anyway. He could say it's a very broad concept, so anyone can use it.
