I agree with you that The Princess Weiyoung has many flaws, but I have several friends that even though they know how absurd and illogical the scenarios may be, they still like those "hyped" moments and rather watch those dramas over the well-thought out ones. And it's not that my friends don't know the difference, they just prefer watching dramas for the fun of it, stories that doesn't require much thinking. Basically boiling down to preferences.

I personally don't really trust Douban. Yes, The Princess Weiyoung isn't that good, but 4.8? I don't think so. I also heard Douban have issues with fake accounts as well and the ranking can be even more biased compare to MDL. If I'm not mistaken, Douban is mainly for Chinese audience. Since I watch pretty much anything from Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, etc etc, I guess my preference lean toward the international audience which is more MDL.

I can see that, unlike a lot of people that have made negative comments here in the past, you're not blind to only believing that your opinions is above others. So I can actually have a normal discussion with you. If you ever manage to give The Untamed a try, then come back and we can debate on why you don't like it. However, if you're going to say the CGI, production values, and such are bad then don't bother. It has already been noted. There is definitely a reason why the people who love this drama can overlook all that.

When you said restarting it, I hope you don't mean as in watching it again from the very beginning? If so, then just save yourself the trouble. There's some episodes that even the best of us find it's painful to go back and watch them again. If you manage to reach the end, then you might find yourself seeing things in a new light. Btw what episode did you stop at?

I think MDL is quite accurate with its ranking. For example, I seen about 7 out of the top 10 dramas on MDL, and while most of them doesn't fit my preference it doesn't mean that the show is bad. It's more of my own problem. Even though I'm not a fan of crime drama, I still think "Signal" is one of the best in it's genre and deserve to be on the list of top 10. Similar logic to "The Untamed" and any other dramas out there.

My bad then. I guess you can think of it like a "fandom" but more than that, we are like a "family" :D

Since when being a fan of someone label you as such and such a person? I seen it happens to other artists before but in Xiao Zhan's case it's going way too far. I'm proud to be a fan of Xiao Zhan and I don't care how prejudice others see me.

Honestly, since I waited for this drama for over 2 years, I would have watch it even if it was bad. Now that it's actually out, it really exceeded my expectation. Besides me not being into love triangle, which is just a personal preference, so far the acting, production value, etc has been really good. Especially since it was made several years ago.

I saw that YouTube already have sub for the first episode. I just don't know have fast they will release their episode on YouTube.
