Then you post your qualifications/language backgroun and tell everyone what job you're interested in doing(There are separate threads for subtitlers and editors). A senior volunteer usually will take you under their wing and get you started :) and help is always needed somewhere.

For segmenting, you have to register at the Ninja Segmenting and Subtitling Academy (it's a website created by volunteers). Once the wait is over, you will be assigned to different sensei's who will teach you everything you need to know.

If English is your native or first language and you're very well-versed with it, you can become an English Editor - someone who comes in after the translators and translation editors, checks grammar, and makes sure everything is coherent, simple, and clear.

If you speak a language other than English, you could translate shows from English to that language.

You can also become a Segmenter - someone who cuts the video into little parts so the subtitler can write in subtitles. You have to go through Basic Training, and then five levels of Advanced Training for that. It'll take a few months because the waitlists are long.

When it was a completely free fansubbed site, it wasn't legal. It's completely legal now, so they have to pour money into buying licenses for all the regions and compete with NF. So a lot more dramas have been locked under a paywall. However, most of the work is still done by teams of unpaid volunteers, so letting them earn a pass is a good thing they do.

For information:
Viki's shows are all subbed and segged by volunteers. If you can't pay for a subscription, you can offer your time and services as a volunteer. In exchange, you get a Standard Pass. So if you want to watch shows legally but don't have money but lots of time, you could become a volunteer and support your biases by translating/segmenting and making your favorite shows available to more people! :)

he looks younger with his hair down, covering his forehead, and when he wears sweatshirts/informal clothing. She looked older at the wedding in that formal suit with her hair styled in that way. It's a well-known fact that most Koreans can look any age if they want to lol

I'm sure if DD cut her hair to shoulder length/put her hair in a bun, put some more mascara, and wore formal/well-fitting clothes and if YG had bangs that covered his forehead and left his hair a little longer/got a perm, wore a sweatshirt, sweater or some other informal clothing and smiled more, they'd look the same age. YG might even look younger than DD.

I can't say I'm disappointed because they said it would be there from the very beginning. I just want to see how this writer pulls it off.
YG seems to have a very soft spot for his sister, and seeing her so desperate, he must have yielded and let WDR stay...

We've seen how stubborn and disobedient the kids can be, so I'm hoping they'll be helpful in this arc. Though YG can also be very stubborn, the kids will definitely hold their own if he tries to fire the teacher they love. Cha Gun is also another huge variable. If SR falls for him, she will be out of the picture. And YG is going to be attracted to DD no matter what. So I'm still hoping for a relatively less frustrating amnesia arc. And please do not tell me we are going to have the uber-classic stop-DD-at-the-airport scene 😂

well I hate the step mum too. I'm not going to choose between the two, because even Mr Park is a character I find hard to like. if the step mum hadn't stopped him, he was really going to suicide with a BABY???! that's just wack

I think Cha Gun is going to become the MVP here during the amnesia plotline... Sa Ra told him about how YG chose DD over her. Once he finds out that she was talking about YG and his niece, he's sure to do something...
and he's also Sa Ra's love interest, so he might be helpful in pulling her away from YG. I dont want him to fall for SR, but if that will take SR out of the picture, by all means go ahead.

I'm very conflicted about her character... I don't hate her buy I also don't really ship her with DD's dad. People here are saying that there will probably be a plot twist where they reveal the real reason why Anna Kim left, but what reason can there be for abruptly leaving without even registering your child, when you KNOW the dad can't register the child and would have to go through hell unless he got married? idk. her character just rubs me the wrong way. I'm glad she's there for DD, but I still don't really like her.

this was soooooo good!!! I was more connected to the characters and started feeling their own emotions, something I wasn't able to do in the first movie.

I have one question though - wasn't Su Hong their 49th paragon? Why do they have to take another one?

the handkerchief seems to be the driver of the show... we have an onset of amnesia for our poor ML and Se Ryeon ran away from her wedding, thank goodness.

this is a different genre of drama known simply as a "weekend family drama". It's the equivalent of a telenovela or soap opera. They all have an average of 50 episodes. Right now, KBS is the only network that offers weekend dramas, so they aren't very popular.

The step-mum is definitely married to DD's dad. I'm not sure about Anna Kim, though... I think she wasn't married to him.

unfortunately, I think the amnesia plot will go on for quite a while because it's included in the main description of the drama on the KBS website... but it also says that he will be drawn to DD no matter what so I'm keeping hope!
