ok 10 eps in and I am OBSESSED... and I'll try to explain exactly why.
1. The writers know how to INDULGE the viewers. The main couple haven't even fully realized whether they have feelings for each other but they're already making my heart flutter and melt and just explode from cuteness.
2. The pacing is fantastic. They finish situations that weekday dramas take ten episodes to complete in just one or two eps. They never get tired of bringing up shocking revelation after shocking revelation. The good characters are so refreshingly honest and take responsibility for their mistakes. I ADORE ML for never letting his pride get the best of him.
3. THE TROPES. I never thought I would love them so much. They're predictabke sometimes and unpredictable other times, but the main leads execute it so ADORABLY that I actually WANT the tropes to arrive. It's just so comforting. And the writers give us exactly what we want.
Refreshing, different dramas are fun, but there's something so comfortable and heartwarming about a weekend family soap opera. It warms my heart for the hectic week ahead.
4. SEJONG. That boy is an angel and I could watch him all day. The kids are so cute and I love the family moments we get. First the amusement park and now a resort trope!! My heart is so full. This is perfect for a weekend drama.
5. The ML is not your typical CEO. He has such a beautiful smile and he doesn't hesitate to use it. He isn't bashful or proud or arrogant. He's adorable in his own way and that is just so so attractive.

6. The OST. Especially the "Love Always Runs Away" cover/remake by rising star Lim Young Woong. His soulful, heartfelt singing does things to me.

sometimes I ALMOST feel sorry for Se Ra. ALMOST. and then she puts on that stupid innocent-looking face and tries to impress that silly ahjumma who doesn't even have much influence on YG's choices UGH what a witch

well there are definitely more kdrama watchers here compared to last year, but I think even this drama's plot and pacing are good hooks. I just hope the rating doesn't fall because people aren't used to this style of drama and expect it to be like the weekday ones

I love this soap opera style... it feels so comforting for some reason... I can't explain it in words, but I love knowing there are two episodes of juicy heartwarming soapy soap soap full of shocking revelations and fluffy cute encounters and all the heart fluttering cliches I could ever ask for

I finally understand why most CEO ML's in dramas do absolutely zero actual work most of the time.... the poor man is just trying to do his job lol the number of family members who keep trying to ask him for stuff or tell him his kids are in trouble I can't help but feel sorry for him 😂

since this drama is making records on KBS, Soompi publishes its progress along with the other mainstream dramas. that's why I think lots of newbies have ended up watching the drama :)

yeah the stepmom is really foolish and simpleminded but she really does care for DD's dad... Cha Gun is such a cutie lol I laughed so much at his seduction scene.
I like the ML... he's kind cute in his own adorable way. sure he makes decisions way too fast... I think he needs some good guy friends lol

I've watched a lot of dramas and I do detest the amnesia trope, bit somehow, I just don't mind tropes in this drama. the leads and the little boy are soooo cute.... it's like a guilty pleasure. I know I'm supposed to hate it but hearts keep pouring from my eyes whenever I see the little family together. there's a different kind of comfortable vibe with this drama because it's a weekend drama and not mainstream.

lmao but I actually laughed so hard when the step mom said "it'll be SO much fun for our kids to get married" they're like tiny spoilt babies I can't with them

it's a soap opera-type drama but it's one of the best I've ever seen if you skip the ahjumma scenes. the main leads are terribly cute and the little boy Sejong is an ADORABLE BABY.

I AGREE! I'm so surprised at myself because I really don't mind ANY of the tropes here... the mains are SO CUUUUUTEEEE

I hate triangles that show are those agonizing, excruciating. half-infidelity or just plain ML-doesn't-deserve-FL. I hate triangles that continue till the very last episode.
For example, Who Are You School 2015 the ML just snatched her up and that was that. I'm pretty sure SML had 2x more screen time interacting with her than ML did.
In True Beauty, that was really borderline infidelity because MAKE UP YOUR MIND, WOMAN!

In most dramas, the SML/SFL is just a villain character and nothing else. A cliche way to bring in a villain, but still. I like dramas where the second leads have their own stories and don't really revolve on the main leads' very existence. DOTS without any sign of a triangle was wonderful.

ohhhh the ML-FL-Sa Ra one? I'm sorry, I forgot about that. I didn't consider it a triangle because Sa Ra clearly has no chance. 😅 I apologize if I offended you or something

yeah, you can see that YS is pretty simple-minded and stupid. She isn't really "evil," just lazy and foolish. She wouldn't have hidden the money if it wasn't for the grandma.

I hate the first option! It would be soooooo weird if ML's father had slept with both a mistress and the ML's freaking NANNY -_-
I don't like time slips in general. I'm hoping FL can study more, but I don't want her to go all the way to America. I like her interactions with the children.
I can see option 3 and 4 happening. The kids are sure to be shocked. If the writers run out of ideas, I can see the "forbidden love" plotline extending for several episodes, with the father objecting and all the ahjummas completely shocked.

I also wonder if Cha Gun will become Sa Ra's love interest. Their relationship is sure to be bumpy. We might get a showdown between him and the biological dad. They might have a kid and Sa Ra will finally let go of her obsession/desperation.

I have a feeling either Mr. Park's current wife or ex-wife will die.

I'm thinking he's Sa Ra's potential love interest, because he's technically FL's uncle and it would be a whole new level of creepy if he's attracted to her.
