I don’t even think it’s about promoting lesser known actors like you say. Now I don’t like her agency one bit and I always hope she’ll choose another one that will treat her well. However, after witnessing how unhinged c-ent can be and to Lusi in particular, I don’t mind at all if she chooses to work with actors who aren’t as well known. Even if those other actresses that you are mentioning are getting to work will bigger stars, are they getting first/second billing and are they acting in male-centric or female-centric roles. It’s of course their choice on which roles they choose to take on so I’m not ragging them for their decisions. I just know with Lusi she’s usually leaned more towards female-centric roles and if that’s the case, the crew are probably gonna have to find actors who are fine with a second billing.

You also need to remember in c-ent, billing positions are really big. Yes, Lusi does deserve the absolute best when it comes to her resources and dramas. However, it’s important to note that if she chooses dramas that lean more towards female-centric that would put her at the first billing, it would leave her male counterpart as second billing. Usually with the more popular male actors, it can cause a lot of drama and is debatable if they’ll choose to accept second billing.

Lusi has been selective of her dramas and is very aware of the comments YXH accounts and even the complaints her fans make. I’m sure she’ll make the right choices, and if the actor can portray the character well and the plot is good, who cares who plays her counterpart?

I wish her hairstylist would learn how to blend her extensions in with her natural hair cause there have been so many times where you can clearly see the separation of both, which sucks cause I think Lusi suits shorter hair but they’re always making her wear extensions, which I wouldn’t mind if done correctly. I did really liked her eye makeup though, she usually goes for a more natural look so it’s nice to see them go for something different and smokier

It mean’s “if I remember correctly” - I think it was because of the lack of communication regarding the drama, Lusi’s official c-fanclub stopped updates because they were fed up with her company mistreating her/not being transparent about the ongoing issues with TLOJ. I think someone made a post shading them for that and the CEO of her company liked the post.

Yeah her company actually coproduced Hidden Love, Shenyin, and now TLOJ. Maybe it’s cause they see Lusi’s success and if they coproduce the dramas she’s a part of they’ll also rake in the benefits. But you think with her being their biggest star they would treat her better. Nope - they’ve constantly inserted themselves into her projects now, are late to protect and defend her against haters, and iirc the CEO liked a post recently criticizing her fans. I was especially upset when she attended a Tencent conference and fans all thought she was there to promote Shenyin. Nope. She went there to promote a drama her company is producing that she’s not even starring in.

It sucks cause with the success she had last year I’m sure she’s been offered other scripts. I’m sure when she got this offer she saw the potential and now she’s being let down and having her momentum killed because of the incompetency of the production team. I wouldn’t be surprised if another reason as to why she’s unable to leave is because her company is coproducing it. Supposedly there are rumors that her contract with them is ending soon so I wouldn’t be suprised if they’re attempting to sabotage her or milk her for all she’s worth. She does nothing wrong - she shows up and puts her hard work into every project she’s given and this is what she gets in return.

crying because her October schedule got released and there’s no news of her joining the filming team 😭😭😭 we were spoiled getting 2-3 dramas per year from her and now at this rate we may only get 1 next year (praying shenyin airs 2024)

She deserves better, she’s worked so hard to cement her place in the industry and has done so well but her company is doing nothing to support/protect her. I will support her decisions but I can’t with her company. It’s like this is a joke to them and I hope they don’t view her loyalty as something to be toyed with.

It’s upsetting cause iirc they were supposed to start this around August/September and now kelulis are saying the stylist got removed from the team. If they’re going to be this unprepared they shouldn’t continue to tie her down with false hopes. It hurts knowing she’s getting all the hate for rumors around this production and her own company who’s co-producing it, are doing nothing to protect her.

Definitely would love to see her take on darker/more mature roles and I have heard similar things about where she needs to work on her intonation/enunciation at some points, which I think will be crucial in those kinds of roles. But as of now I think probably she wants to go for the more youthful roles while she’s young. Even in a previous interview she jokingly said she wanted to do a campus drama before she got too old to play the part.

Oh yeah but I think as of recent, pretty much all her projects have been Youku/Tencent, would love to see her in an iqiyi costume drama because I think they’re doing a great job in terms of design, editing, promos, etc. I don’t know if it’s a contractual thing(?) but again any kelulis know feel free to give any input!

Maybe some fellow kelulis could help me out here but is there a reason why Lusi doesn’t take on any projects with iqiyi? Would love to see her in a costume drama with them!

It’s totally up to you on if you enjoy the drama or not - not everyone will like this type of genre so it’s understandable. I think the point of frustration is that people are pushing this whole grooming/pedophillia idea when in reality they are just taking stuff out of context without proper research and watching/reading the material in its entirety. If she doesn’t like HL due to things such as the genre, editing, etc. it’s fair game, but to push that type of nonsense onto those who trust her reviews is bs imo.
