this is so funny bc coincidentally i was talking to my friend about the differences between newer and older dramas and what we liked from each! have to say i love how the change in society's way of thinking has shown so we can see stronger female characters, healthier relationships, etc.
lee sungkyung as sansa stark is a concept i've never thought of but it's actually amazing !!! as a hardcore game of thrones fanatic i'm soooo glad this article exists! i'm so excited for s8! :D
An excellent article! I love kdramas as much as the next person but this is something that deeply bothers, especially when I watch older dramas. Besides the normalization of this abuse through the media, what is just as worse is the viewers (some of which are often young and impressionable) also seem to accept it. It's disgusting to see it be romanticized and people still supporting ships involving these themes to the end. Thankfully as we progress in modern day I feel like dramas these days are getting better and handling issues like this. Slowly the norm of abuse is being fought against and shown in a negative as opposed to and accepted manner to conform to.
excellent article! i definitely agree it's one of the reasons i really hate this trope because it often takes so much away from the story itself and a lot of times the people involved are selfish and don't consider the other person's feelings
wow this was so interesting to read! i know a lot of subtext can be interpreted through the writing and what is said and other things that are symbolic in the background such as colour or certain imagery but i never noticed things like what you mentioned in the article such as ######## divisions, etc.
for me personally i tried to maintain a healthier lifestyle this past summer and one of the things i wanted to do was improve my back posture! i found this video (https://youtu.be/F_JxvkeFQ78) and followed the advice she gave me and although it was hard at first after a while i found it easy to keep my back straight and in fact i preferred it!! unfortunately by the time summer ended and school began i slowly slipped back into having bad posture, being hunched over my desk and all but maybe it will help you and others :)
this is so surprising :o i must admit i'm often quite reserved and distant but it's mostly bc i'm really awkward and don't know what to say and i'm also really shy which isn't really helpful when i try to make friends lol ... but i'm more more talkative and outgoing once you get to know me :D
it's really cute and chill so far and i kind of connect with the characters too bc it's hard to find what your place in life is... also often we don't really get to choose careers that we'd really like to pursue in our hearts so all in all i love it so far :) give it a try it's very soothing!
this was so interesting to read! i'm really glad you thought about this idea and carried out the research, props to you! also hufflepuff male leads are my absolute favourite so i'm glad to hear that they're on the rise!
