Man Wol is one of the best female leads I've seen in a while. She makes stupid mistakes but looks so darn cool with her fancy clothes and car and food that I can't help but adore her. She steals every scene she's in with her arrogant, yet sensitive personality. Her relationship with Yeo Jin Goo is lovely; I really like that he's more scared of ghosts than he is of her, when the staff noted it ought to be the other way around. I can't wait to see how their relationship develops, and what happens to Hotel del Luna!
(Sidenote, also cheering on the adorable side characters!!!)
I wasn't digging Eunwoo's performance in episode 5, but episode 6 changed my mind! He was adorable and retrospective and eager to please and a nervous wreck — I enjoyed watching the emotions of Yi Rim. I'm also really REALLY enjoying Se Kyung's performance as Hae Ryung. I hadn't expected much from her, but she's blowing me away. I think she's really found her niche here! The story is picking up and becoming more interesting, too; I'm hopeful that the show will continue to get better and better as it goes along!
(Also, brb crying over that poem at the end of episode six!)
I originally started watching this show for Eunwoo, so I might be a bit biased to him. His acting is a little bit awkward at times, and I can't quite pinpoint what he's doing that feels so off. Maybe it's his expressions, or maybe it's the lack of a clear motivation. Regardless, the grave scene feels a little creepy and interesting, and I'm excited to learn about that.
I wasn't expecting much from Shin Se Kyung but she's really impressed me here! She's a bit too "modern" for a historical setting, but I'm enjoying her energy on screen, and I'm hopeful for some awesome girl-camaraderie between her and the other female historians.
Also still loving Shin Se Kyung a lot. She excels at every aspect of this role!
