I honestly think I'm going to drop this, I'm roughly half way in and getting really frustrated with everything. The FL should have been ML's maid or something that he takes with him as a bodyguard/assistant. She is rarely in uniform, rarely doing her job in the police station and spends most of her day - when she should be on duty- running after him and cleaning up his mess (literally, with a broom and stuff). She acts more like a secretary and assistant then a police officer. And the few times she is actually in the police station she is constantly arguing with her boss. It feels like she should be fired or reassigned, and as the 'Rookie' why does anyone ask her questions about locations and exits when she is so new to the city? Also, the fact that she is a female police officer is brought up once and mocked once in the first story arch then never mentioned again. It's like everyone just accepts it when historically it's really doubtful anyone would have accepted it. They could have done something cool with that aspect, like an underdog story or even ML seeing how much grief she gets when doing her job and supporting her as she struggles to be respected in (what is still) a male dominated industry.
I think this could have been really fun, if they had made different choices. But they didn't and I keep getting frustrated when I see what it could have been.
