Namping won me over. I can't get over Khem. I wanted to hug him all the time.
Long time no see 😄
Actually I opened an MDL account towards the end of 2023. There are many dramas that I have watched but haven't rated or added to the list. I used to watch a lot of dramas, but after a while, I would have problems, like forgetting the name of a favorite drama or missing a drama starring a favorite actor. I opened the MDL account to get rid of these issues. I used to just watch the shows; I never commented or interacted with anyone. Started commenting with Khemjira, and along with that, I found friends like you. Khemjira truly knows magic. There is a song from my country, the lyrics of which are, 'My friend knows great magic.'
Namping won me over. I can't get over Khem. I wanted to hug him all the time.
I have watched the 40-episode drama twice. Perhaps I will watch it again in the future, I don't know how many times. I myself have also searched a lot for dramas like 'Meet Yourself'. But I haven't found anything quite like this drama. There are good dramas, but they are of a different kind. While watching this drama, it feels as if a sweet breeze is caressing me, carrying the fragrance of various flowers, the scent of wet earth, and a cool shiver that makes me forget everything worldly for a moment.
Namping won me over. I can't get over Khem. I wanted to hug him all the time.
I also enjoyed talking to you guys. And everyone has different preferences, so if you like something, that's good, but I don't think one should say anything bad or spread hate if they don't like something. It's better to talk about your own preferred dramas than to speak ill of something.
I have seen some Mainland Chinese dramas featuring Liu Dong Qin/Eric. In those, he played perhaps a second male lead or a guest role. His acting is good, but Mainland China has many actors who are both handsome and skilled. Because of this, even many good actors in China don't get opportunities in quality dramas. The fact that a Mainland Chinese actor came to Taiwan to do a BL drama was something I liked from the start. The drama turned out to be excellent, too. But I was afraid he might get banned in China, which fortunately didn't happen later. So, acting in BL dramas this way has become easier for them. However, I heard that they spent a significant amount of money on Eric, which is one of the reasons the second season didn't happen. I don't know the truth of this, but in my opinion, everyone should have tried to complete 'The On1y One' drama. If the drama had been completed, I believe it would have received an even better response than 'Revenged Love'. But what's done is done. I hope they act in even better dramas in the future, especially, I want to see Benjamin in more quality BL dramas.

"Battle of the Writers" tried something different, so it was a 10 for me.
Now now now, you started "Meet Yourself"! That's amazing. You know, the first episode was so hard for me; I cried a lot. When I watched "Khemjira" and saw Khem and Jet's friendship, I felt like they were Hong Dou and Nan Xing. Nan Xing definitely gives vibes like Jet. The only difference is that in "Meet Yourself," they were separated. Then you met our sweet "nǎi nǎi"? That sweetie is like an elaborated version of Grandma Si. You will love the local kids, like meditating Mr. Ma, Na Na, Qing Tian, You Yu, Xiao Xia, Zhi Yuan, and Candy, and everyone else. 😄 Even the animals in this series are lovely. And enjoy the songs! Every song is beautiful, even the Lullaby. Listen to the song 日日 by Chen Li, close your eyes, and you will feel like you're beside the Erhai Lake. Enjoy the drama, Happy watching! 😁

I'm glad to know that you enjoyed interacting with me.
"The On1y One" is a beautiful series. Its Chinese name is Mǒu Mǒu; in our language, the word Mou means honey or very sweet. Their romance in the series feels just like honey. They are lovely.
Nowadays, a lot of high-school kids look like adults; some even look like they're 30. So, there is no issue with their appearance as teenagers. Some people simply cannot appreciate a good thing. I didn't know these lunatics ruined the second season. I feel sad that a beautiful story remained incomplete because of this. I wish some other company would buy the story from them and make a new and complete series.
for everybody who is talking about the NC scene, I have something to say. so a lot of people were complaining…
Thai BLs get blamed for everything. For example, if a series has a good NC scene, then it's called 'p*rn.' If the NC scene is bad or average, then it's called 'the sloppiest.' And if the series doesn't have any NC scenes, then they're called 'homophobic.'
Namping won me over. I can't get over Khem. I wanted to hug him all the time.
I don't consider those senseless people to be critics. If you read the work of a good critic, you will understand that they don't harbor any hatred toward any actor. Furthermore, critics respect the customs, culture, and etiquette of other countries and try to understand them. For example, if a foreigner comes and criticizes fish sauce, dried fish, or the excessive spice in our food, our affection/love for those foods won't diminish by an inch. In the drama "Our Generation," one should not label the FL's running after the ML and her attempts to sustain the relationship as shameless or a lack of self-respect. Conversely, we, who may not understand Western culture, cannot call Rose 'characterless' when she lies down to have her nude portrait painted by the man she knew for only a few days in Titanic. I barely watch Western dramas/movies, as they don't appeal to me, so I don't have the right to comment on them.
I haven't watched the drama KinnPorsche and have no desire to, because I simply cannot watch r*pe, violence, excessive murder, betrayal, and a Casanova male lead all together. Also, the plot of KinnPorsche seems quite unsuitable for South/Southeast Asian countries. Since I haven't watched it, I can't say anything good or bad about the drama; I don't have that right.
Even before "Khemjira" started, I saw many bad comments about the character Khemjira. Those same detractors watched the entire drama and then started talking nonsense again about Namping and his acting. Reading their comments, it feels as if Namping himself wrote the drama's plot and dialogue and even directed the drama. And that he forcefully tied Keng to himself.
I've seen it in Chinese dramas, too: if the FL is very good, she gets the title 'Mary Sue,' but no matter how perfect the ML (Male Lead) is, he doesn't easily get the 'Gary Stu' title. One of my favorite dramas is "Love O2O," one of the dramas I started watching Chinese series with. In that drama, both the ML and FL are equally talented. Then there's the Japanese BL "My Personal Weatherman," where both MLs are insecure, jealous, and a little crazy. 🤣🤣 I love these two very much. But these dramas, too, are an eyesore for many people.
Uff... I could go on and on about this. Actually, some things just can't be finished by writing; I feel like it would be better if we talked face-to-face. I've seriously babbled a lot with you across these two comments. 🤣🤣"
Namping won me over. I can't get over Khem. I wanted to hug him all the time.
"Khemjira" is a perfect story for me, so I don't think there's any need to change anything about it. I only feel like something more could be added. I'll explain what could be added. For instance, you said I invented a story, and I would want to add a similar element there too. The problem with that is that many people wouldn't like it. I think if "Khemjira" had more stories about the people from Pharan's village, it would be great. What could be more beautiful than that lovely village, with its diverse people, their stories, their joys, and their sorrows? But not everyone appreciates its essence, especially the Western audience; they often don't want to understand the stories/culture of our land and people (not everyone, some do). I really like these kinds of stories; "Meet Yourself" is a perfect example of such a drama. The drama feels like everyone's story, carrying everyone along, and it doesn't lack the main characters' love and romance either. Now, coming to favorite characters. All the characters in "Khemjira" are beautiful; Cali has portrayed every character brilliantly. Still, I would say the character of Grandma Si is exquisite, she is immaculate. Such characters sometimes exist in our lives too, protecting us like a banyan tree. They are like an eternal flame.
The dramas "The Middleman's Love" and "Battle of the Writers" are good, but the stories are actually very short. There isn't much to show here, and at the same time, I found the side couples' plots uninteresting. They could have been even better if they were a little shorter and had fewer episodes (like Japanese BLs). Dramas should be shortened or lengthened according to the need of the story and characters. For example, the manhwa "Cherry blossoms after winter" is extremely dear to me. But the drama adaptation with only 8 episodes did a terrible injustice to the story. I have read and still read many manga/manhwa/manhua. Sometimes I want a drama adaptation of my favorite manhwa, and sometimes I don't. I'm afraid, actually, if the drama adaptation won't be as beautiful as "Khemjira." I once cried through every chapter while reading a manhua. And I cried for 7-8 days while reading the book "Totto-chan"; my family thought something terrible had happened to me. 😄
I really like Bai Jing Ting; his acting is more beautiful than his appearance. I liked "Mobius" because it showed that the ML isn't perfect; he makes mistakes and learns from them. And the drama "Reset" is extraordinary, especially since both the ML and FL are my favorites. The reason "Reset" is so good is that all the characters in the drama have their own unique stories (tales of sorrow and joy, just like I mentioned about "Meet Yourself"). Now, I really want Bai Jing Ting to do a drama like "The Legend of Zang Hai," where he is intelligent and solves all problems and mysteries with his wits rather than being skilled in martial arts.
Namping won me over. I can't get over Khem. I wanted to hug him all the time.
Everyone is replying according to their own convenience. I have never discussed dramas with so many people before. Because of this, it feels to me like I am talking to my multiple personalities. 🤣🤣
Namping won me over. I can't get over Khem. I wanted to hug him all the time.
I have been thinking about your comment for quite some time now. I believe there are several factors at play here.
I have watched two of Yim's dramas, and in both of them, his character was very ordinary. The reason these characters were ordinary lies in the drama's plot. "The Middleman's Love" is about an ordinary person who has no glamour or anything extraordinary about him (somewhat like us). Tutor, A stunningly handsome young man (who is full of glamour) fell in love with the person who is not very skilled at anything and is ordinary in all aspects. You see how attractive Tutor's character is from the very beginning!
Even so, Yim's character could perhaps have been highlighted, but the drama has a screenwriter and a director. An actor cannot do anything on their own without listening to the screenwriter and director. "Battle of the Writers" is the same; there, Yim is an ordinary writer, and Tutor is the rich, handsome, and talented author/celebrity.
Actually, the dramas' intention is not bad; they want to show that an ordinary/less talented person also deserves love. And that a very talented/successful/handsome/celebrity-status person can fall in love with a completely ordinary individual.
Now, the main thing is that many people cannot accept this. They want an extraordinary personality or a handsome person to fall in love with another handsome/extraordinary person. Their behavior becomes like that of Asian controlling parents. You will also notice that in the BL industry, actors playing the 'seme' role are often styled like people's dream men, and as a result, fans become obsessed with those actors. Yet, we constantly see how big stars marry or date perfectly ordinary people. These so called critics are doing the same thing when they watch the drama. By spreading hatred, they question the taste of their favorite stars and severely hurt the people they love.
The situation in the drama "Khemjira" is also similar; I would actually praise Namping for having the courage to act opposite Keng. I don't understand what people want. What should a person whose death is inevitable do? Dance? Sing? Be absorbed in love? Or practice Kung Fu? If you knew you were going to die very soon, wouldn't you be depressed? Would you feel like doing anything? I don't know about others, but in that situation, I would probably spend all day crying. (Just think how much Cali lovingly created the main character of her novel. And some people are speaking such ill of the character.)
My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer at a very early stage. That was about 16 years ago. At that time, we didn't have good cancer treatment in our country. We also didn't have enough money to take her abroad for treatment. My smiling grandmother spent nearly five years depressed and terrified of death. Nothing could make her laugh; her mental fear was greater than her physical pain. By the grace of God, she is now alive and well. When she recovered, hundreds of people came to see her, as if she were a miraculous woman.
Anyway, in the end, I will only say one thing: screw those unnecessary critics.
(To add to that, and this is something I've stated before, actors should aim to portray different kinds of roles. They should be careful that their characters don't become repetitive.)
so true. The actors know how to act, but the direction and screenwriting feels so off. I feel bad. and don't get…
With an amazing plot, the talent of these actors, their good looks, and a lot of money, they're wasting it all. But still, I will give it a high rating. Because I don't wanna discourage my hottie, cutie and sweetie(Ongsa, Au, Thakhi)
Namping won me over. I can't get over Khem. I wanted to hug him all the time.
You are flattering me 🤭🤭🤭
Anyway, when I was a child, I used to watch a drama. The main lead of the story was a spoiled brat girl. She lost her mother in childhood, so her father worked very hard and accumulated a lot of wealth to keep his two daughters happy. Due to a lack of discipline, the rich father's daughter became completely unruly. All her friends were toxic, and her boyfriend was greedy for money. Seeing all this, the father fell ill from worry about his daughter, and his business also suffered a lot.
At this time, the heroine's father meets the hero, who is a very good man. The boy grew up in a joint family, but his family was not as rich as the heroine's father. However, seeing the hero's good qualities and his honest and cheerful family members, he decides to marry his daughter to the hero. The heroine's father, in a critical condition in the hospital, forces the heroine to agree to the marriage.
The story is about how, after the marriage, the heroine positively transforms through the love of her husband and his family members.
The plot of this drama is very beautiful, and that is why I want Namping to act in such a spoiled brat role.
So, I got to know from the screenwriters' biographies that they're continuously writing trash. Ugh... Like, you guys got so much money, you could've hired some great/talented writers.
However, I'm loving these three main actors. Hope they'll get better dramas soon. 🫶
