Most misunderstood k-drama of all time
This is one of my all-time favorite shows, and I am so sad that it is so greatly misunderstood.
I guess it is marketed as this campus romance, featuring beautiful Cha Eunwoo, typical romantic comedy - I get it, people go into it without looking much deeper.
However, in reality, it is this beautiful story about friendship and forgiveness. About being able to recognise someone who is truly in pain and ultimately understand and forgive their wrongdoings.
At the end, Mirae realises that everything Sua has done has been out of her own deep insecurity (which is a feeling that Mirae is very familiar with) and extends her hand to Sua when everyone has turned her back to her, because her perfect image is broken. Thus proving to Sua that someone will always have her back, even if she isn't perfect.
This story is just so wonderful and surprisingly deep, considering the image this show has. My ID is Gangnam beauty, they could never make me hate you:)
