The social-climbing step-mother tries to insert herself into the young couple's lives, but gets both shut-out and tossed-out. If son-in-law says you matter, we will accept his word. OUCH! So the witchy step-mother arrives at the event with the evil, full-of-herself wannabe royal leader of the coven to make a big public spectacle. And they certainly did, but not as they had planned! The king and queen sashaying into SS's house! After the step-mother & meddling aunt arriving with such fanfare, making such a scene trying to beat-up SS and then getting dragged-out by guards in plain view of all those attending, never to be seen again. The evil step-mother & meddling aunt being given the bums rush was the highlight of the party! Except for the part when LBY arrived looking so hot he could burst into flames. There was that.

Think the whole point about how awful royalty is - is just how awful royalty is! These people grow-up so entitled, they literally have a real, live person whose job is to wipe their butts. WHO can grow in that environment and not think they are special, as in very special? Additionally, they get away with EVERYTHING! What are the consequences or punishment for their actions? Copy a book? Stay in their room with someone to wipe their butt? Royals are a mess. This series seems to take pains to show that the courtiers flatter and manipulate the royals for their benefit. Some royals are aware and complicit, and others are clueless.
