I think it can be because of different genre. Where they wanted the even crying scene to be bit funny. Or if can…
i don't think her crying scenes was meant to be funny , even in a lighthearted drama i think some scenes specially in kdramas are meant to hit you right in the feels and make you feel emotional .
i agree with you , her tunnel scene was really well acted , that's why i think she couldn't pull it if in this drama till now
sometimes even forced crying can make you emotional if you are attached to the characters enough , but in this case this is just ep2 and i am not too attached to her character yet
this may offend some people here but i want to say this
jung so min is really good in the the comedic scenes and where she has to act awkward , her micro expressions and delivery is perfect
but her emotional scenes are not hitting me tbh , like , the scene were she was confronting her mother and when she was crying in front of the ml , idkw but her delivery wasn't good , and like many viewers got emotional there but it just wasn't hitting me , it looked like she was acting , didn't look natural and took me out of the scenes. even the execution of the scenes wasn't perfect . some actresses cry so real , i get teary eyed but it wasn't the case here .
I'm not hating and this is just what i felt honestly

you are exactly proving my point , that you are not understanding me lol, i dont care whether you criticise the things i enjoy , everyone have their opinions i understand your value point that you explained , i just dont understand your realism point that i mentioned in my 2nd reply , but its okay

"The poster looks cheesy, as does the trailer, and the cinematography and costumes seem too polished to be realistic."
it seems you were expecting realism when starting this , and you didnt get realism so you didnt like it , but now you are saying you dont mind cheesy content , idk what you exactly want
i found it to be humorous and its ok if you didnt , i am just saying it delivered on what it promised , for me atleast

they specified platonic friend , so i hope he is not in love with her since childhood , and we see them actually falling for each other throughout the eps 😊
The “Love Next Door” production team teased, “If Episode 1 depicted the reunion between Bae Seok Ryu and Choi Seung Hyo, Episode 2 will depict the changes that Bae Seok Ryu’s return will bring to the Hyereung neighborhood.”
They went on to add, “You can safely look forward to the ‘platonic friend’ chemistry between Bae Seok Ryu and Choi Seung Hyo that will make viewers’ hearts flutter in a fun way, as well as the relatable stories of their families.”
can someone give me the link ?

for me she is a good actress , but not in the top/best ones
and i didn't say her acting is bad , i mentioned particular scenes where it looked forced / fake ,

unpopular opinion but ...
for now i just want to say i enjoyed ep1 more than ep2 ,
ep1 was like a 9.5/10 , while ep2 was 7.5/10 for me

exactly , it was marketed as a cheesy feel good romcom , if you expected something else , its not the drama's fault
