Just finished the show and I absolutely loved it! What an emotional roller coaster ride! HMH never disappoints and Ai Mi finally got her chance to shine as the leading lady! I loved their chemistry and thought they handled their romance beautifully! In fact I think someone is a huge Austen fan! That forehead scene with the light in between them reminded me of my favorite scene in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice! The infamous meadow scene! Best love confession! If Xiao Wu Yi would've said you've bewitched me body and soul and I think I would've died! Lol!

Waiting for it day to day is worse than waiting for the show to wrap up believe it or not, but I'm patient! HMH is worth waiting for though!

Oh trust me I never do. I just hated to see the age thing drive away other viewers when HMH had no control over the casting and I heard he even got some slack for it. I don’t know how much of that is true, but it breaks my heart. He is such a sweetheart and deserves nothing but love and support from his fans. That’s all he’s going to get from me 🥰

Oh! I am SO happy to see how many positive comments there are about the show! This makes me even more excited to see it. All I see on Reddit is nothing but negative comments and how no one is going to watch because she was 17 when they started filming which is a tragedy because of how hard all the actors worked on the show. Especially HMH who I am the biggest fan of! I am waiting till it wraps up to start it because I can't handle waiting day to day for this kind of show! I've been waiting for this one for forever and I'm going to have to binge my way through it so I'm really excited for it! It looks amazing!

I was think of watching this, but I wanted to wait until it finished before I started it to binge the show. I checked the end because lately I need happy endings before I commit to something these days I just can't help it, but can someone please explain wth was that ending. Was everything that happened all a dream. Please put in spoiler.

Looks like we're on the same page! Lol! I haven't eaten fast food in over 20 years myself! Disgusting stuff! I think I'm almost at my breaking point we're it's time I see other people! Lol! I really do miss my long historical shows! I just get impatient with the whole 40 episodes sometimes, but I do love my actors so it's worth it in the long run! I only come on here to comment every once in awhile as well. Nice chatting with you! =)

I wish they would remove the censorship for the shows too. They have also ruined the long transmigration shows that I used to enjoy so much with such jarring endings so I stopped watching them! Verticals can get away with it and are more enjoyable.

I hear what you're saying about the shows not being your thing. I was the same way about a year ago. I am not a spring chicken either myself, but I somehow got into them and now I'm addicted!

I'm not gonna lie alot of it has to do with the looks and chemistry between the actors more so than the SL's sometimes! The guys are hot and know how to kiss! I can only take so much dead fish kissing. They have some very versatile actors in the genre don't be fooled! I have my favorites as most do!

Don't get me started on the wtf storylines! I often have to ask myself if I should have my head examined why I'm watching this stuff! Lol! I really hope they get away from the abuse SL because that is too much! If they do try to censor the shows I do believe it will definitely harm the industry for sure too! I would hate to see that happen!

One other thing I like about the vertical industry that you never see in the other is all the couples that have dated or are dating and are now married! They don't have toxic fandoms like the shows do. Fans are actually happy for the actors and genuinely support the couples! It's so refreshing to see!

Don't say that! You'll break my heart!!! It's what keeps them interesting. I don't know what they'll write about then. I guess they'll be forced to come up with new ideas. Actually it would be refreshing. I can only handle seeing the poor girls getting murdered by her family or green tea/white moonlight and coming back for revenge so many times! LOL!

That makes sense. Vertical dramas are much more popular than they were a few years ago though! I have noticed that. The shows seem to sprout up like weeds every second! I can't keep up with them! I'm totally addicted. It's my guilty pleasure now.

Well I'm from the states and verticals are more popular than people realize. I read stuff in the comments sections from time to time and they seem to have a global fan base these days. Obviously not quite to the extent to the others, but the popularity is growing. Even actors from the long dramas are popping up in them now. I can't recall the names at the moment, but I recognized them from the other shows. I always wondered why they were banned and heard rumors, but I didn't know someone actually committed suicide. It's really sad that people can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality today. Such a tragedy.

Out of curiosity if rebirth stories are supposed to be banned in China how do they get away with it in all of the vertical shows? They are almost in every other show.

I’ve been waiting for the show to finish so I can watch it because it looked interesting, but after 4 episodes and reading comments I just had to stop. I’m with the rest of you about him drugging her. 🤬That’s a big fat no and an even bigger one for me is rooting for a couple to end up together when he’s still sleeping with his harem and having kids. I know that’s how it was back then and a part of history, but I’ll pass.🤮

I love Yan Zi Xian and he is one of my favorite leading men, however saying that I think I'm going to have to hold off till this wraps up to see how it ends before I give it a go. The last few of his shows have had sad endings and I need him to have a HE for once!
