The climax and resolution happens in literally one episode so if you want some kind of payoff you will not get it

Wei Xuan's actor's acting shocked me. Like the crying scene actually shook me to my core. I thought he was just going to be a shallow side villain but that scene hit me like a truck

eh I feel like it's more realistic on how long injuries take to heal especially when you're constantly moving around and are short on nourshing food and meds. It's not "being a baby" when you've been speared through your stomach even if it didn't hit organs, it can be fatal just because of the blood loss. I feel like we need to re-evaluate how we see realistic war situations because being taken care of when you're like on the verge of death is not weak. Though I do agree we haven't seen him do much because he has been in hiding this entire time + there's not much to do in war except trying to stay alive and trying to keep your army alive. There's no "graceful" or "clever" way to survive in a battle. I expect the court politics arc to start soon and i think we'll see his more cunning side then.

I love how real the war scene was, it was desperate, the soldiers were scared and it was truly a fight for survival, not victory, from common soldiers' point of view. I love this compared to like legend of the female general where battles are like breezes because our mcs are like canonically the most overpowered in the whole universe- It adds a lot of depth to it. That said I am SOOOOO ready for Changyu to HAND IT to Jiuheng. He needs his ass whipped because his lies could've gotten his ENTIRE ARMY KILLED.
