Sharing one fan’s comment in Weibo. Although I don’t read novels, she speaks my mind. https://weibo.com/1886217294/5293513065367115Today…
Well said and so true!
After reading the novel, I really felt the soul of the character Xu Huaisong brought to life in You are fateful love. And the same with every drama character of his. That’s how he makes those characters unforgettable ❤️

Title Love beyond the Grave Spoiler
Miles's farewell to his character Yan Kehttps://m.weibo.cn/status/QC9Fh0sEl?jumpfrom=weibocom
For those who don't have weibo access:

The light that belonged to Yan Ke was finally extinguished.

In many people's eyes, he was an ambitious man who sought only power throughout his life; a fool who loved but could not have and hated but could not fully express his feelings; a loser who died tragically, abandoned by everyone.
But in my heart, he was more of a soul betrayed by fate, both in life and in death, a tragic and lonely soul. From a prince in the mortal world to the Right Chancellor of Guixu, Yan Ke used two deaths to complete this migration of identity, yet he still did not receive a moment of redemption. Perhaps some darkness does not yearn to devour the light, but has simply never been illuminated by the light...

He once believed that three hundred years of companionship was the most devout expression of love, and that being with the one he loved day and night, never to be separated, was the most beautiful destiny.

Because of this seed of love, power had unknowingly become a tool for him to realize his desires. He was ruthless and crazy, he was obsessed and unrepentant, he deserved his fate...

From beginning to end, he had no way out. The hatred for his father's murder came first, followed by love at first sight. Indeed, "the bright moon hangs high but never shines on me."

For Yan Ke, this ending, seemingly a tragedy, was in fact a liberation. When he desperately protected He Simu, he finally made his first stand against his predetermined fate—choosing to sacrifice himself for her life. In that instant, he was not the Right Chancellor of Guixu, not a traitor to Guixu, not a slave to his obsession; he was simply someone who sacrificed himself for love.

And the choice itself is freedom.

In truth, what trapped him was never Guixu, not He Simu, not even the tragic past—it was his inability to let go.

He couldn't let go of the hurt of being betrayed, couldn't let go of the obsession of unrequited love, couldn't let go of the illusion of "I must become something." He was so much like many of us in life: because of a single failure, we constantly deny ourselves and engage in internal conflict; because of a misunderstanding, we fall into the trap of trying to clarify and prove ourselves. We use obsession as armor, unaware that it will gradually grow into our flesh and blood, becoming another form of imprisonment.

Fortunately, life is not Guixu; we don't need to live on obsession.
True inner strength is not about clinging on, but about facing things calmly and letting go bravely.

All spirits return to Guixu, Yan Ke departs.
May we all break free from the "cage" that confines us,
and even in the dark of day, may the moon shine brightly in our hearts.

Title You Are My Fateful Love Spoiler
Zhou Jun's gf Yao Xin was sexually exploited by Wei Jin in exchange for a promise of promotion. However he never…
Let's look at Mingying's bf. He openly flirts with an older woman at a restaurant to close a deal. He uses his boss's daughter (hiding his relationship status) to get promotions. This is his choice and that's how he is , a clear red flag. There is no coercion there.

Let's look at Yao Xin's story.

To me it appeared like although she (reluctantly) agreed to her boss for a promotion it was in a way a choice she made. It is not like she was impoverished and couldn't meet her basic needs that she had to do it. He was making inappropriate advances even before and if she wanted to she could have discussed this harassment issue with her bf and dealt with it or quit the job if necessary. When she agreed to his demands, it already meant that she was compromising her relationship with her bf and we have seen how she was avoiding him later. She definitely wouldn't have expected that after she gets the promotion her boss will leave her and she can then live peacefully with her bf. The relationship with her boss would have probably continued despite. It was like she was caught in a trap. Then is she a good girlfriend or a red flag?
I think its the latter. Because firstly she didn't discuss something as serious as sexual harassment with her bf meaning there is no transparency in their relationship. Secondly she tried to achieve professional growth not through hardwork and patience but through means that is considered unacceptable in a relationship. Even if she was forced once on that day, she could have then taken a call not to continue. This is a matter of principles not vulnerability. Instead of being an equal partner, she downgraded her bf to a weaker position in their relationship.

It is so unfortunate though that this sort of still happens in society.

That's why couples need to build a solid foundation of understanding and trust in a relationship and that's what the main leads story is teaching us.

Title You Are My Fateful Love Spoiler
I liked this series. It was very refreshing. I just don't understand some of the cases towards the end about sexual…
Regarding XHS mom, she was unable to bear the stress and emotional burden of being a criminal defense lawyer's wife. Their family had to handle judgment, harsh questions and criticisms from not only victims family and acquaintances but also from the entire town. The children's safety would be affected. So she chose to divorce him as his dad was an upright man and couldn't leave his profession either. Upto that point also is ok.
But being a mom, seeing what her son went through during the family's stressful period , I thought she should have supported him better. (Although she did not know that it was because his sister didn't want to go to US that he had to leave and not because he loved her any less). And accept that it was his own decision to pursue a career in law. Over the years the distance increased and they were estranged. Yes as a mother I still feel she could have taken a little softer and gentler approach towards her son.
XHS has done a good job clearing his father's name and family reputation and patching up with mom. He brings the family together. No apology from mom but hope she makes amends by looking after her husband well now.
In the novel the mother still keeps in touch with her son through calls and she visits him when he is hospitalised in Hang City and he visits her when he visits Su City.

Zhou Jun's gf Yao Xin was sexually exploited by Wei Jin in exchange for a promise of promotion. However he never really did give her any perks but continued to use her with threats. On the day she was murdered, she and Zhou Jun were going from Su city to visit Ruan Yu's parents in Hang City suburbs. After having an argument Zhou Jun gets off the car and Yao Xin continued to drive (as per Zhou Jun's confession- pleading not guilty).
That day Yao Xin had called Wei Jin from an unregistered number and had gone to meet him to threaten him with the evidence that she had against him.
Watch Episode 27 first 10 minutes where it's shown that the police recovered the voice message in her phone which Wei Jin destroyed.

Zhao Yi didn’t confess but his mom is giving a green signal 😂
I thought giving a lift to Xu Huaishi in her porsche was very sweet. And she was discussing about them with Xu Huashi's mom in the wedding (with the two in the background).
Some things are just shown.
Atleast no class difference here for a change 😅

Title You Are My Fateful Love Spoiler
Episode 2 - The leads meet after a decade
Episode 15- She comes to "know" he attended the same school and has recognised her in the first meeting itself (basically her fears come true, he knows her and that he is the protagonist in her novel)
Episode 19- Realization ( what really matters to her about Xu Huaisong)
Episode 23 end- Knows about his drafts
Episode 24- confession and first kiss
Episode 29- A grand proposal in the same school
Episode 29- They register their marriage. Do the deed 😉
Episode 30- wedding

Their story is not about falling in love but about returning to it. Their journey is told in two timelines - current and then (high school)

It’s a slow-burn nostalgic romance.
It’s a lighthearted watch with a simple plot.
Hope the above will decide whether it's for you or not.
