I've been following all the rating boards on weibo and this drama has done very well across all boards. As a 'comfort watch' it has managed to engage the audience and retain significant viewership all the while it was airing. Thankfully, the producers and directors take into account domestic success and popularity and not international rating so I hope MW continues to grab good opportunities in the future which he so deserves. Still somewhere I have a lingering hope that this drama rating will pick up on MDL too 😀
7.8 is too less of a rating for this! I don't think there are many dramas that have adapted their source novels…
I can't agree more! The drama clearly states what it is and the reviews are reflecting what to see and expect. It’s a winner for me. 💯 recommend! As a long term fan of Miles Wei, I have seen this pattern of rating in most dramas where he is the ML It stops just before 8. You AreMySecret was an exception as public rating outdid the MDL admins. It just shows how biased MDL is towards actors who are not their faves or who are not traffic. Makes me wonder if it's all "fixed". Atleast from now on I hope people will rate it conscientiously!

What he said is that although it is said that each character has a different core, similar dramas continue to pressure and stress him, striving to bring new details to life. He calmly realizes that "ability" is no longer sufficient to handle more repetitive sweetness. At the same time, he is not forgetting his own plans and goals, clearly recognizing which path he should take. He says definitely Xu Huai Song type of character will be the last one.
He has said many times in interviews that he prefers to do serious genre , republican era, workplace dramas, historical costume epics, roles like spy or villain or complex characters

His romcoms will now be classics ❤️ After working for years, some in roles which he probably wouldn'thave wanted to do, I feel happy that he has made the decision and is in a position to take the call now. He has never been an actor running after traffic or heat index or someone who sold himself cheaply for popularity in the several years that I have followed him. Respect!
He isn't retiring! He will do roles that gives him satisfaction as an actor. We must feel happy and support his decision.
Not sure how I'm feeling right now. A bit dejected as I do love his romcoms . But happy that he is happy to have made this decision. His preference has always been a serious genre like a spy or a villain. He mentioned it in his interviews in the early stage of his career. Whatever he is happy with, I will be happy too ❤️
