watched this and loved!! mainly also for the short length the 15 eps kept me on my toes and engaged. does anyone have, does not have to be similar genre but for any cdramas that are the same or at least less than 30 eps?
god i was reminscing over what a good show this was after it randomly popped in my head, to only search it here and learn it has 7.7 stars?? it was such an amazing show? maybe i should rewatch it has been nearly 8 years since i last saw it, but wow talk about different perceptions.
ok on ep 20, and my latest peanut gallery update is i cannot believe the foundation shade they've chosen for jun, oh my life i think the same thing for every episode ad nauseam. odd too because so far so many of the other extras and secondary characters seem to have their neck and face matching even if they have deeper or tanner skin tones so they could have done the same for jun but since they didn't, the mismatch becomes even more jarring when the camera is on him. he's too handsome for this diabolical ghost makeup ;-;;

also just as an aside would love to jun in the future pick up maybe more melodrama roles, that scenes where hes having a nightmare of his mom leaving him, the way those emotions come across were so so believable and had me gripping my laptop. he expresses that anguish well.
currently watching and will try to leave thought as i slowly pace myself (and i do mean probably follow the peasant non-vip schedule) through the episodes. so far, its fun. a suspension of belief, a willingness to just go with the flow and take things as they come will derive the best results for enjoying watching this drama. while i am extremely biased (have followed svt for 8 years and jun biased since 2015) i do feel like seasoned cdrama watchers are projecting their high expectations a bit unfairly on what was supposed to always be a light, cheesy and ultimately a feel good drama.
is it silly? yes. could it be more original? sure. but like it's fun, funny, i like the parental relationship and the fact the parents actually do seem like friends that grew up as neighbors, and its expressed in the closeness of the ML/FL going through most of their adolescent milestones together. i do wish so far (only on ep2) there was a bit more complexity to the characters, and yes jun is doing well with what's essentially a straightforwardly unremarkable character and perhaps it was some of his more subjective interpretation of the character but also the character's acting were based on directives given by the producers, script writers, and it falls flat for me. there are ways to be more reserved, with an inability to express big emotions without being blank faced (i cheered the first time jun moved the lower half of his face into a bashful smile lfjsl forgive me jun) i dont know i think both miaoyi and jun are doing the best with the limited material they're given and im looking forward to the rest!
wait wait, does anyone know in ep. 3 ling rui is able to find that skeevy guy's penthouse that lu fang ning is at, unless it was explained in the ep and I didn't pay attention to that part. Its been bothering all day since I finished that ep :((
ok so Im hoping to try my luck here and hope someone will know the drama I have been looking for because my impulse control to click through recommendations and then completely forget what dramas piqued my interest has become an issue now.
That's actually what led me to finally make a mdl account to ask the question and actually put dramas on the to watch list but basically the premise was that a girl travels back to taiwan (after being abroad or either moved away to college and came back) and apparently it has gorgeous cinematography and shots of Taiwan's countryside and the name is blanking on me completely and.. thats all I remember about it. Like it seemed to be simply about exploring this certain part of Taiwanese culture and its people. She meets a boy as well and it has moments of romance from what was written in the description but it was such an intriguing drama poster and plot line Ive been itching to watch it :( if anyone know and can help a girl out please let me know!
ok so I watched this years ago and remember absolutely loving it despite the few plot holes (?) not that it should be called that, perhaps inconsistencies in the writing towards the end that left me baffled. However what I do not remember *wink* at all are the annoying qualities of the FL that so many people are commenting on here- so maybe this will be on my rewatch list because honestly do not recall her being so bad I actually quite liked her character and dynamics with the other characters.
First jdrama that popped into my mind and that fitted the archetype of strong women (with an e) was Mondai no Aru Restaurant. Just went to check out the mdl page for it and apparently strong female lead is in the tag (was my cute to vote on the tags) but this really emphasizes your point about voting on the tags to increase the proportional relevance of those subtypes, but honestly its one of the best drama that centers around working women issues and not even exclusive to working women but all women. The bond that develops between the characters between such well written female character is done so well that I thought it would be the top most drama here I really haven't been able to find anything like it so far in the jdrama land again and bonus its not even romance! well at least it wasn't for me it wasn't all that relevant *wink wink*
