dewtee on best chemistry duty
must preface this by saying that i've been a fan of dew since f4. so while i have an obvious bias towards him, i can also say it with certainty that he has grown immensely in his acting. i liked him in leap day too, but here he really proved that his strength lies in thriller series. and tee? i've fallen in love with him given that it is his first main role. he was the best person to cast as phat. especially when we get scenes of phat and kaye, they had good chemistry and things felt so natural i really, really enjoyed seeing them on screen together. i honestly preferred that it wasn't a romance series, because that plot line wouldn't have fit in these 10 eps without taking away from the characters and story development.
for me this was possibly the best series they could've had for their debut as a pair. it fits them and their interests well, you can tell that they gave it their all. dew's art is stunning of course he had to be a mangaka. i admire the fact that he drew the art for this series, i loved the osts too.
major spoilers from here!
as for the actual plot of the series, i did figure out who the main villain when he was introduced as a higher ranking figure but was never shown after that unless phat needed him for something. but i liked all the other plot twists. i liked that they made the audience doubt kaye multiple times. i could feel phat's confusion navigating through the case. and the final reveal did shock me, even though they had previously laid out thun's obsession. there's obviously things i wished could've been done a bit differently. i wasn't particularly fond of the bits with phat and his sister, some other things felt unfinished especially in the last episode and there were a few things which didn't make sense. but nothing that ruined my enjoyment. unless you're some sort of hardcore thriller consumer who wants the best of the best plots, this is a great series to check out
shoutout to neo and off for being great actors too. i admit they really do justice to their roles
