The show was going well with record-breaking ratings, so they were pretty happy. And villain arc from episode 12 & above, about which most of the viewers are complaining, would also be thoroughly discussed and planned. Its not like salvaging the mess; instead, going through the plot.

Yes, I agree that the ES & MSH scenes were draggy and needed better planning, but they know how to produce a show and took the risk. Its not like the writer is perfect in every way; she may have realized her mistake and will correct herself.
