The Untamed – My No.1 Chinese Drama (Highly Recommended!)I’ve watched many Chinese dramas, but The Untamed is the best. My No.1.
Because of this drama, I started listening to Chinese songs, bought hanfu clothing, learned a bit about some Chinese actors, searched for other Chinese bromance dramas, and even tried learning the Chinese language. That’s how powerful the impact of this drama in my life.
What I love about The Untamed:
The actors and actresses are amazing—even the supporting roles. They’re not only good-looking but truly talented in acting.
The story writing is excellent. It brings such a strong emotional effect to the audience.
The cinematography is top-notch. The camera angle, the slow motion , zoom in , so perfect.
The locations and background settings are so beautiful. It feels like we’re in a fantasy world.
The costumes are stunning—just simple , plain colour with minimal decoration but still elegant and attractive.
The soundtrack is incredibly emotional and powerful. I can’t describe how, but it stays with you.
Characters I adore:
Lan Zhan – He feels like a prince from another world. Not only is he handsome, but he’s also incredibly talented. His expressions are on another level. He doesn’t need to speak—his gestures and eyes say everything. He is like a hero for me.
Wei Ying – another one of my favourite character is Wei Ying . He’s so hilarious and his acting is on point. He brings the perfect touch of humor to balance the intense storyline. Not only handsome but full of charm. Always make me laugh whenever he's on screen. His bond with Lanzhan make me smile.
Honestly, most of the actors in The Untamed are both good-looking and talented. Even the supporting cast did an amazing job. Congratulations to the production team—excellent work!
What I didn’t like (at first):
The first and second episodes were confusing, and I almost dropped the drama. But after reading the positive reviews on MDL (kisskh), I gave it another try since I was curious, how could this drama get a 9.0 rating and so many fans?
After finishing it, I couldn’t move on. I tried watching another dramas, but The Untamed haunted me like a ghost. Especially the soundtrack and the chemistry between the main leads. It took me a few month to move on.
Hardly to move on.
I’m still hoping for a Season 2 with same cast (fans said no season 2 . They refer on novel, novel ending just like that)
Actually I really want to see Wei ying and his brother like before. Good Family relation Before his family died.

WOW. I never expected this drama to be this good
This drama is amazing. Nirvana in Fire deserves to stand alongside The Untamed. The story, the fighting scenes, the chemistry between the male leads, it’s all top-notch, I almost dropped it in the beginning, just like I did with The Untamed, but thanks to all the fans on MDL, their comments really helped!What I can say, Nirvana in Fire feels like The Untamed Season 2, even though the stories are different.
I’m a bit disappointed because they provided Nirvana in Fire season 2 with different cast.
There is a little bit of romance in Nirvana in Fire (maybe only 2%), but trust me, the female lead is not annoying at all, she’s a strong woman. I like her. There are no intimate scenes, but I completely fell in love with the brotherhood and the action scenes in this drama.

Wowww,, the acting really top notch.
The first chinese short bromance drama that satisfied me.Accidentally found in youtube. Acting 10/10, facial expression 10/10, body language 10/10. Great chemistry between main lead. plus good looking. Captain cheng & professor jiang,,
Captain Cheng, his character really suit as a police man. Like his hair style, the outfit make him more attractive. Quick tempered but he look masculine and carries himself like a leader.
Professor Jiang is cool, and I really like his style. He is very calm, which perfectly complements Captain Cheng’s quick tempered nature. The two of them are like oil and water.
Acting both of them top notch. The portrayal feel natural and not exaggerated .
I missed the untamed vibe, this one really satisfied me. Story about investigation and their relationship remind me of Justice In the Dark drama. Strong bromance . potential to be popular if production remake it to be longer drama. But until now i cannot trace the official web/app that released this short drama. Highly recommended.

The best lost tomb series-Xiao Ge appearance most of the time
Ultimate Note – The Best in the Lost Tomb Series (Highly Recommended!)I found Ultimate Note through a recommendation—and wow, it did not disappoint! Among all the Lost Tomb series, I personally think Ultimate Note is the best.
Why I love it:
Xiao Ge appears more often in this version, and that alone makes a big difference compared to the other series.
The bromance/brotherhood between Wu Xie, Xiao Ge, and Pang Zi is truly heartwarming. I love seeing this trio together—their bond is everything!
another one of my favourite character is Hei Yan Jing (Black). He’s so hilarious and his acting is on point. He brings the perfect touch of humor to balance the intense storyline.
The sci-fi fantasy vibe of the story just makes it more exciting. It’s mysterious, emotional, and imaginative all in one.
What I didn’t like:
The last episode... it left us with a hanging story. It felt incomplete, and I was craving for more.
Because of that, I can’t give it a perfect score—but still, I’d rate it 9.5/10.
Final thoughts:
I’m really hoping for a Season 2 because Ultimate Note is too good to end like that. It deserves a proper continuation!
Highly recommended for fans of action, mystery, and strong character bonds!

Accidentally found this on YouTube. However, since YouTube only provides an on/off sound option, I started searching everywhere for the official platform that released this short drama. I’ve added this to my Chinese bromance short drama list.
The main leads delivered great performances, martial art choreography very good, music, but unfortunately, it’s too short.
Of course i love the chemistry between main lead.

After a year of waiting… A drama that finally lives up to The Untamed.
The latest short drama from China. I fall in love with this. Fans of The Untamed will definitely love this.At first, I was a bit hesitant because the video quality seemed blurry and not very sharp. But as I continued watching the next episodes, the image quality kept improving and became even more beautiful. The zoom-in, zoom-out, lighting, and camera angles were absolutely stunning.
The acting is solid, through their facial expressions , body language, they managed to convey emotions very effectively. I really love the chemistry between the two main leads. The visuals are also captivating. There’s one photoshoot scene with a winter background that looks incredibly beautiful, almost like being in a fantasy. The OST music matches each scene perfectly with the right timing. The martial arts choreography is the second strongest point that makes this drama stand out.
After years of searching for a drama with the same quality as The Untamed, I can say this short drama has become my No. 1 Chinese short bromance drama.
Each episode is about 11–14 minutes long, but it feels like an hour because I keep replaying the scenes. That’s how good and impressive this drama is.
It’s rare to find a short drama with such a solid plot. The connections between each part of the story are strong and meaningful, with real development. Not boring at all. Honestly, this drama is even better than some full-length Chinese dramas.
The only downside is that it’s too short. I’m left wanting more.
For the flute scenes, I was a little disappointed. They should have focused on the actual flute sound instead of using background music.
And yes, prepare some tissues, because this drama is sad from beginning to end.
As of writing this review, I’m still waiting for the SVIP episodes. Hopefully, there will be a twist at the end. And i need season 2 with a long drama.

Remind me of The Untamed
Wowww... I accidentally found this via youtube. And wooowww, this drama very good, the music remind me of The Untamed. Very emotional. The CGI high quality. Great acting from both main lead. The wheelchair guy ,his acting, body language, facial expression, the way he talk top notch. But this drama too short. Please remake it to be longer drama so that we can see the story to develop And i bet this will be phenomenal. Until now i cannot trace the official web/app that released this short drama. Still give you full star. Yes i dont like short drama because we cannot see the story to develop . But ending im not expecting for sad ending. i hope we will get season 2 . Yes the acting both lead very good. The Eunuch, His facial expression, body language ,they way he speak, Very solid . I like the 6th prince when he drunk. This drama Have potential to be popular if producer remake it to be longer drama. The story reminds me of Nirvana In Fire drama. Its about politic . The Bromance!! The Chemistry!! The acting!!
After completed The Untamed, someone recommend me this. At the begining, its hard for me to accept the story. Not because guardian is bad but you know its taking me a few month to move on from untamed. Currently ,I don't have any drama bromance genre to watch. I take my time to watch Guardian again.
Its repetitive drama because it's so good. I think more than 3 times already.
Any drama that I list in my profile is my favourite and the best among the best.(I guarantee You will not disappointed)
The guardian- I like the chemistry,the bromance between Yu lan and shen wei. Their acting is the main power here. Yu Lan character so manly,warm-hearted and rugged, while Shen Wei describe as cool guy but full of charismatic. If producer can give a better OST music like untamed, this story can create emotionally sense to the audience.
Camera angle and cinematography can be improved, many say this drama low budget but I don't care as long I can see Yu Lan and shen wei together .
Because they deserved get high appreciation from me for their acting.
Highly recommended.

WOW! The first bromance drama after Chinese government's ban.
After a year of hearing about the Chinese government's ban on bromance dramas or BL novel adaptations, I'm glad we finally got to see this beautiful bromance drama from mainland China in 2024.I still remember when this drama first aired—it had a rating of only 7.8. But now? It's 8.9! MDL ratings don't lie.
For me, if a drama has more than 8.5, it's enough to get me hooked & curious.
Ruan Lanzhu—he’s incredibly talented. Just because of his acting in this drama, I totally adore him now.
Every time I see him with Ling Jiushi, it makes me happy. Their chemistry reminds me of Lan Zhan and Wei Ying (The Untamed vibes!).
Sometimes I just wanted to slap Ling Jiushi—he’s so slow at picking up hints from Ruan Lanzhu. Haha!
Ruan Lanzhu’s gestures every time he looks at Ling Jiushi… they seriously made me feel shy!
Li Dong Yuan is also great—his acting is good and he’s hilarious. I want to see him in more bromance dramas too.
The OST is very good and easy to listen to.
But yes, this drama itself is a bit creepy and the songs make it even creepier! I watched it at midnight… still acceptable though. Haha!
Spoiler alert—what I didn’t like was finding out that Ruan Lanzhu isn’t human.
I’m sorry for spoiling it, but I really felt Ling Jiushi’s pain—his sadness and disappointment when he knew that Ruan Lanzhu was just a creation of a virtual world.
Their bond was so strong, but in the end, they had to say goodbye because they came from different worlds.
Thankfully, it still has a happy ending, even though the final episode felt a bit too short.
They met again after a decade—Ling Jiushi created a virtual world game just so he could see his friend, Ruan Lanzhu, again. And Ruan Lanzhu lives on in that virtual world.
I really hope there will be a Season 2 with the same cast. I still remember them so clearly.

First drama in modern version that caught my heart after untamed
I still remember—this was the first modern drama that truly captured my heart after The Untamed.I really love the entire OST—yes, not just one, but all of the songs!
The chemistry between the police officer and the doctor was really good. Both of them acted so well, especially their facial expressions.
But... about the ending. Hmm. Maybe stop watching before the last 1 or 2 episodes (I can’t remember exactly).
Sorry, I love spoilers—and I’m going to spoil you all!
Why should you stop before the final episodes? Because the second male lead dies.
Many viewers were unhappy with the ending. Even though the producer released a special episode with a happy ending later, it still didn’t fully ease the disappointment.
So, in conclusion—this drama actually has two endings: a sad one and a happy one.
Of course, I choose the happy ending—because I believe every good story deserves a satisfying finish.
Highly recommended, especially if you love strong emotions, great chemistry, and unforgettable music.

Hikaru no Go – A treasure Hidden Gem I’m Glad I Found it! I need season 2.
I miss with adorable Chu ying the ghost and the bromance between Yu liang and Shi guang.Wow! I accidentally found Hikaru no Go on the iQIYI app, and once again, the comment section was super helpful—thank you, fellow fans!
Since Episode 1, I was immediately hooked. The story is easy to follow, engaging, and full of emotions. This drama made me a big fan of Yu Liang, the second male lead. I love his personality and how he grows throughout the story. Yu Liang character here very opposite compared than his role in Bright Time drama.
I also felt a bit jealous (in a good way) of the deep friendship between Shi Guang (the main lead) and Chu Ying (the ghost). Their bond is beautiful and emotional. And the connection between Shi Guang and Yu Liang. It gave me Lan Zhan and Wei Ying vibes—but set in a school environment!
Hikaru no Go has a perfect balance:
Light comedy
Heartfelt moments that made me tear up especially when Chu Ying left, my heart broken
A little romance from the side characters
It’s definitely a feel-good drama with some emotional punches. I truly hope there will be a Season 2, because I’m not ready to say goodbye just yet.
Highly recommended! A must-watch, especially if you enjoy stories about growth, friendship, and a little bit of magic.

Thank you Wowow TV for showing this drama until we could watch it completely. It was once stopped by YOUKU at that time.What I can say is, this drama has very high potential to become popular if they not cut the important/hurt scenes part between two main lead. The main actors, Pei Su and Captain Luo are very talented in acting.
The music, "You Raise Me Up" is my favourite song. However, I wish there were more background music to enhance emotional moments especially during the hurtful scenes. At times, the music felt off-track or didn’t match the mood.
What’s sad is that there are many plot holes, and a lot of scenes were clearly cut out. It’s very noticeable.
Another thing, while I'm writing this review, episodes 9 to 30 still don’t have proper subtitles, so I didn’t fully understand the whole story. Of course, I will rewatch it again from episode 1 to 30 for understand better.
Still, JITD still the best for bromance genre.
What really made me interested in this drama is because of Pei Su and Captain Luo. Their acting is really good.
