Can someone tell me what happened at Qiongqi Way? I kinda forgot about it.. thank you
Jin Zixun brought people to ambush Wei Wuxian who was on his way to attend his nephew's celebration. During the confrontation, Jin Zixuan was killed by Wen Ning

After the initial intro cum character development episodes, the story and plot should start to engage. Hopefully, you will be done with it in no time, just like a roller coaster ride that starts slow and flat before the twists and turns. It will be a wild, untamed ride of emotions :)
Still attached to it. Can't move on since late 2019
Not asking you to move on, but thought you may also enjoy watching Prince of Lan Ling - it's the only drama other than The Untamed that touched me immensely. Though a 2013 production, different genre from The Untamed, it’s almost as touching and good in plot, ost, costumes, sets as well. The Untamed still tops though :) https://kisskh.at/4033-prince-of-lan-ling
Ok, I can't do this anymore.I'm not a big fan of Chinese dramas specially historical ones, and believe me, no…
50 is actually not as daunting as it appears.. a 40-episode cdrama is just as 20-episode kdrama. The Untamed is a late-bloomer drama. Give it some time. It starts flat and confusing for many but the details will eventually stitch together, tear one to bits and blow one away
Finished. Now time to watch the donghua. I never thought I would get so attached to the story. Now should I watch…
I recommend Prince of Lan Ling - it's the only other drama that touched me immensely. Though a 2013 production, different genre from The Untamed, it’s almost as touching and good in plot, ost, costumes, sets as well.
Doulou Continent is weaker content-wise, but it is a feel good drama of the protagonist's journey to grow in strength as an individual and with his team, to protect loved ones and the weak and to fight evil.
is this really worth the hype? im still exploring cdramas anddd tbh im not really interested in watching historical…
It is that good. The dramas you have watched and your drama ratings are not listed on your profile, so can't really flesh out what in this drama will resonate with you. Can only say it has elements of a phenomenal drama - plot, cast, chemistry, music, sceneries, costumes, moral values on society norms, good vs evil, strong vs weak, power struggles, friendships, kinships, funny and cheeky at times, and anguish and heart wrenching at times. A must-watch!
If you have enjoyed Prince of Lan Ling, do also check out The Untamed. The production quality is almost as good or better than Prince of Lan Ling, and the drama and its OSTs touched me immensely just like the Prince of Lan Ling. 1. Don't be put off thinking it is a BL drama. Chinese censorship has transcended the mdzs novel into a critical series showcasing Chinese culture, music, sceneries, costumes, intriguing plot on the protagonist’s ordeals going against society, using unorthodox methods to fight evil and help the weak. BL is subtle and acceptable for a homophobic me 2. Don't be put off by its flat and confusing start. It is a late-bloomer drama; the plot and details will progressively stitch together and will eventually tear you into pieces and blow you away.
No other drama gives me the same feeling as this one. The emotions feels so deep and overwhelming. It has been…
Do check out The Untamed, the only drama other than Prince of Lan Ling that touched me immensely. The Untamed OSTs are a notch better. Overall, Prince of Lan Ling tops until The Untamed, with its deep messages on rules of life, good vs evil, judging one's heart..
A typical misconception of cdramas is that they are very long at 30-50 episodes compared to kdramas at 16-20 episodes. Truth is cdramas are not comparatively much longer as each episode is just 45mins (40mins less the opening and ending credits), while each kdrama episode is usually 75-90mins. So don’t be put off by cdramas that are over 40 episodes. The Untamed (陈情令 | 2019), Prince of Lanling (兰陵王 | 2013) and The Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre (倚天屠龙记 | 2002) are three cdramas not to be missed.
The Untamed is a greatly misunderstood drama.. it has an incredible plot, and it is certainly not just a BL or a pop drama. There's whole lot of depth and details in its plot/storyline, script, visuals, ost, costumes, scenes.. One is missing an epic drama, dropping after the initial episodes, seriously.
Hey, i can only say it is such a shame to drop it at episode 4, and you are missing an epic drama. There's a whole…
Time jumps back to 16 years ago in episode 3 when young cultivators from noble clans attend a boarding school. This is when the protagonist meets his unlikely best buddy, and when he shares his absurd thoughts (as viewed by the masses) on unorthodox demonic cultivation, harnessing resentful spirits for righteous causes. Meanwhile, there are strange happenings of humans becoming zombies with the re-emergence of the Yin Metal. Episode 6 explains the Yin Metal and connects the strange happenings. The 2 male leads then went on an adventure to find the other missing Yin Metal shards. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the protagonist ends up practising demonic cultivation, but using it only for righteous causes to be condemned by the masses.
Hey, i can only say it is such a shame to drop it at episode 4, and you are missing an epic drama. There's a whole lot of depth in this drama, and thus many find the drama confusing in the initial episodes. And honestly, many who persevered on for another 3-4 episodes get hooked, and re-watched this drama again and again...
The two male leads rose to fame after the drama was screened, as they and the entire cast did an outstanding job bringing out the complex 3D characters they each play. In fact, they were not the first choice. Many more well-known actors rejected the two male lead roles due to schedule and/or it was thought to be a BL drama.
The drama, thankful for its censorship, transcends beyond just a BL drama to an epic drama with such intriguing plot, questioning rules of life, good vs evil.
HosPlay1 - i dropped it after 4 episodes so exceeded 1 episode to make the cut for this list. If it is not so hyped that got me to tried so hard to understand why the hype, honestly i would have dropped it after Episode 1!
The Prince of Lanling from 2013 remains one of my few fave cdrama 8 years on. i recently rewatched this on youtube early this year and still find it one of the best cdrama. Highly recommend for everyone to check it out. It's a pity it doesnt have english subtitles.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7TFgn7h0Yo&list=PL_p_NntboG1sEwwKCsxaS8ZDr_N-5YtCd
While it is not a weak to strong plot like Tang San and Zhang Wuji, it is a gripping drama of how the protagonist…
:) Do share if you enjoy after watching it. It might get a bit confusing for the first few episodes (it was for me), but press on as the plot will unfold beautifully
