is this one of those dramas where the FL is humiliated for half the episodes and then starts to win? How long do I have to live through the horrible experience phase before I get to see the good stuff?
I've read comments complaining about the fl of TLOTFG. But I don't understand why. Could you pls explain?
I came here to read comments and decide whether or not to watch this one, and then felt the need to defend TLoTFG. There was one aspect of the FG that I didn't like but I thought they did a good job of conveying, through her, what a real leader looks like. So I take it that I should watch A Journey to Love as well? I think I might be maxed out on really long dramas for a while but I'll start this one and see where it goes if you push me :-) I must say all the comments make it sound good.

The comments are really pretty unfair actually. TLOTFG is a very solid drama. It's good entertainment and it has something to say. The leads and story are good and it holds your attention throughout. So I'd recommend it to you. Also if you're interested ... my comments about the female lead are below in answer to the first person who responded to your question.

I think, maybe, you haven't seen many dramas of this kind and you missed the point of this one. The women who play men in these dramas, use societal expectations to their advantage and then they play at being pretty boys. Women have certain names, dress a certain way and are found in certain places doing certain things. Everyone else is a man. It's unthinkable that they'd be anything else. And then you add in your suspension of disbelief.
Also, you're wrong that the man saves her all the time. She's shown to be a great leader who commands respect because she's a great tactician, and an unparalleled martial artist adept at all forms of combat. She can and does beat anyone and everyone and I'd say that she's saved by others about as often as they are saved by her. Which is the point. She's an equal. They all need reinforcements.
And, overall, a big part of the drama's message is that a name, a status, a size, appearance, or gender ... aren't what makes someone a true leader. It's opportunity, endless learning, extreme hard work and not ever giving up that makes a true leader.
People will be inspired and follow that ... if they're smart. And the other combatants in the drama are smart. They're loyal to her despite the fact that she doesn't look the part. She lacks obvious size and strength but she proves herself time and again. Her half-brother slides into her shoes with name and appearance on his side ... but he hasn't earned the title, could never earn it ... and plainly isn't worthy of it. So, when she comes at him to earn it back ... again and again ... he doesn't have the skills.
Also, there are lots of action scenes in TLOTFG. And they're pretty good.
yes continue ... but pace yourself a bit maybe ... it picks up speed especially towards the end
it's later but that actually works out well because he really isn't the same person that he was in the first place ... not anymore ... which leads to a cool, really well paced resolution arc that's quite exciting to end on ... so it's actually worth the wait ... and the drama ends well because of it i.e. it's not rushed like many dramas are. anyway ... enjoy ... :-)
Overall, this was a good slice of life drama, I thought. 34 episodes were too many especially for a binge watch ... and the FL little girl act was annoying at times. I found that I could take the cuteness in every way except for the way that she walked and bopped around like a toddler. That was too much especially since she was a great character in every other way. The ML was a bit too saccharine for my taste as well. But their story was good. When they were being serious, genuine adults I absolutely loved them. I enjoyed the way that they met and the way that their relationship progressed alongside their careers and their friends. It was definitely worth the watch and I'd be happy to recommend it to anyone who loves a slow burn story and romance about nice people.
also I hate to say it but the primary audience being women tells me all I need to know
It's unintelligent to speak as though your opinion is a fact. It's also unintelligent to overstate your point of view to make it sound like the only legitimate opinion instead of seeing that other people have worthy thoughts too. So, please cut the condescension and stop trying to foist your black and white thinking on others. Some of us genuinely enjoyed season 1 and season 2 for good reasons.

Too intelligent and too many fight scenes? lol. I think it's obvious that the first part of the equation was written for women and the second was there for the guys. Something for everyone.
the tags on this drama are interesting. the ML is a competent tsundere general and the FL is only talkative ... not competent and not a general. So ... who, exactly, chooses these tags? Did they watch any of the drama or even read the premise? Why is a lazy, unthinking, garden variety sexist doing the tags?
The two of you are such trash. Or is it just one? All you have to do is tick the spoiler box in case what you say will spoil something for someone else. It's so easy to tick the damn box; really not a big deal. Instead you are deciding what other people should think and do. You're making up comment section rules that don't exist so that you can do nasty vindictive spoilering. Its obvious that you are dense and/or you just enjoy hurting other people when it would be so easy not to. I'm blocking you both now so that I don't have to read your infantile nastiness. I hope that you'll give others a break though. Just tick the box.
I really don't care about the errors thta everybody is mentioning, i hardly even notice them since i was so engrosses…
You know, I'm on my third viewing and I haven't noticed a single thing. Whatever they might be, they're totally inconsequential. And, who cares, right? The writers certainly do keep up the good work.
