Lower than expected MDL ratings are normal for Xu Kai dramas. Douban is 6.8 and 23% 5-stars, a comparable MDL rating should be 8.5. If ABAY douban results holds, then MDL 8.1 is an anomaly.

YZM and HT have very different personalities. For one thing, HT eats his apple differently than the way YZM eats it.

I understand where you are coming from, why you may not like it. For me, I like the ruthless, cold, and ambitious YZM who is not restrained like HT, and the introverted, adorable, and simple genius Yang Hua who can love unconditionally without marriage.

BCE is mainly family theme about the mother and daughter. SAHPH relationship is more mature theme, older woman with younger man. At first I didn't want to watch this kind of relationship, but I was very curious about the actor, so I watched it, and I really enjoy it. Yang Hua is one of my favorite XK characters and an iconic one. It's one of those characters you think no one else can be Yang Hua but Xu Kai.

I really like the scene of HT rescuing the cat. The cat is his bridge to JX.
