What's worse is that if you point out how terrible harassment is (no matter the context or backstory), majority in the fandom will talk you down and try to convince you that the stalking is reasonable and justifiable. Me, coming across such a comment thread: "WTF?"
Also, I think that's the intention of the scriptwriter, director, and the actor himself. ZZS is a dying man resigned to his fate... He was rather cold at the beginning (borderline abrasive) because he wanted to be left alone. Although he is the character that deviated from the source material the most, for this particular adaptation, I think it works. (For the first 20 something episodes of the drama, at least. The rest... Bleh.)
