I think LBH had sacrificed his best actress, trying to recover PSH popularity by 'stealing' HJM fan base. This drama has bad and non-coherence plot, very bad scripts, and mediocre directing. Unfortunately, this time HJM acting can't salvage this drama. She had to play a 30yr+ manager with a childish personality, dating an aloof and also childish CEO. This might work if PSH acting isn't so bad. The rest of the actors are actually good. Surprisingly, the best acting was done by the SML and his step mom. They should be made ML and FL.

Bad ending? I think it is a beautiful love story. She decided to sacrifice herself for the baby to keep her promise.

The strange thing is, I fell in love with Shin Bi, not Jang Geum :-) The older Jang Geum should have continued the character of the young Jang Geum, it will make the drama more interesting. Still a very good drama though.

I like your passionate comments and understand the feeling. However as you put it -- "The heroine is possibly the one who frustrated me the most and no amount of sociological analysis on the customs of South Korea will ever make me love a grown up woman who can’t stand up for her rights and for the people she supposedly loves. " -- this prove that this drama actually delivered what it intended to do and that SYJ had played this hard-to-like character JA really well, as realistic as possible. So the rating of 6 is suitable for JA (and probably other characters in this drama), but for the drama itself, the rating should be closed to 10.

I think 6.0 is a bit too low although 10 is definitely overrated. It could have been 10 if they didn't change the young and beautiful female lead Han Ji Min who was already acted perfectly portraying a cool character. Song Hye Kyo was famous, yes, but her acting skill is not that good and she changed the character drastically you can't relate anymore with the younger days.
