Problem is - great singer though he is - he admitted hitting his girlfriend (but not often!) - however gifted and handsome he is, that is not acceptable in my book.
Sensitive portrayal of young man/older woman love story complicated by driven career woman's pressures in the advertising business and rival adult admirers in the office. Advertising background interesting - though some of their ideas are so daft I wondered how in the real world they'd stay in business. Kamenashi's acting excels for someone at such a young age. Sato Koichi adds a nice touch as the laid back "manager" of the team and they do have a variety of background characters. Nothing stupendous but I feel the 6.9 overall rating is a bit unfair. P.S. Someone should really have told Kamenashi to get a hair cut or tie his hair back. Bedraggled hair does absolutely nothing for him.
This has a comedy/drama genre tag, where did you get it's thriller?
Thx for the reply,I just assumed well if something's about a prison and it's korean it sounds heavy, it does say drama, it's possible to have violent dramas with comedy bits, my mistake obviously
I really liked samurai high school, very funny as a clownish teenager, the change to the samurai Kotoro was also handled pretty well, I liked the appearance though the character didn't suit him as well imo. I also watched the one about the blackmailed college student - very good. But I thought the one about the police trainee was really awful. Still I think he's a good actor, not just a pretty face.
Can anyone tell me before I watch this if it contains too much and too over the top violence which I have found typical of Korean thrillers and really put me off otherwise good dramas?? Thanks.
Super funny apart from the soppy and teen macho bits. The adults are as good as the kids in this, the different lottery prizes of the small v large stores in episode 9 was hilarious, you could say "priceless"..
Very funny, great entertainment. Miura Haruma does the double roles beautifully, great talent. Even the ending was convincing, well done and positive, unlike many series.
This started out as a very good movie with a very interesting premiss. Although everything was neatly rounded off at the end, I thought it lost its way and the development of the story became increasingly unconvincing, unrealistic and "off the wall". It also had a big "moral" lesson about the dangers of the ruthless pursuit of excellence, in this case the battle to get into Toudai University and how the system advantages the already privileged. No doubt true, but it's a bit too obvious. So mostly enjoyable, especially due to the attraction of Miura Haruma. Very different story pairing him with Shirota Yu than Samurai High School, though.
Wow, you better keep the tissues handy if you watch this one (make that two boxes), guys as well. Lovely movie based on a rather bizarre premiss about the characters in the future writing to themselves in the past. Re-watch yes, but I don't feel I'm strong enough for it any time soon. P.S. Maybe I missed something, but where did the baby come from? If it's Suwa's, I got the impression from most of the movie he was not exactly that way inclined.
Painful to watch. I agree with the other reviewer, it's so slow and sentimental. OK I don't like police stories, but I really do not see police officers, especially cadets, behaving like that. Despite the attractions of Miura Haruma and Sato Koichi, they are totally out of character, the story is unoriginal and the development slow. Whoever cut Haruma's hair must have used a knife and fork. I think they both landed a stinker here. A generous (why am I so generous?) 4/10.
Why do some people have to be so multi-talented? I mean baseball too??!! But he's a great actor so far in his life, I wonder how he'll develop as he gets older.
Looking back from 2017, he's an excellent actor, I haven't seen all his movies/series but I've only seen one dud. I remember recently Nobuta wo Produce, Sapuri, Gokusen 2, Joker Game, Yamata Nadeshiko (reminds me a bit of Nobuta in having the weird girl). Also like the Love Yourself song from that. I think it's his sultry good looks and the fact he can play different moods - from bright to downcast, playful to serious, very well. It's not only the girls that like him:)
P.S. Someone should really have told Kamenashi to get a hair cut or tie his hair back. Bedraggled hair does absolutely nothing for him.
