I feel like Rei and Arashi are a great pairing! It looks like this is Takutoâs first role and heâs doing so well. Iâm really looking forward to seeing how this progresses. It is totally fine with me if it doesnât follow the Thai version exactly. I hope they make it their own and highlight parts that JBL fans like that might be different than TBLs đ
It is really interesting seeing this blend of acting styles. Korean acting and Thai acting is very different and the level of affection typically shown in each type of drama is so different. I'll be interested to see how they blend throughout!
Just some thoughts:This follows the Chinese update to âAddictedâ called âStay with Meâ more than it does the original âAddicted.â I think that is a good thing personally as Addicted had distrubing SA scenes between the male leads. I do believe Hero is more unhinged than his counterpart in âStay with Me.â In âStay with Meâ we are left with a terrible cliff hanger that sadly, will never be answered as they sold the rights off. I am hoping that this series will provide closer for the other with the ending. I do recommend watching âStay with Meâ as it is great. As others have said, the age gap leaves a lot of be desired. I understand that the director might have thought someone younger would have a hard time being as imposing as Heroâs character is meant to be, but then cast both leads as adults (though the actor who plays Poppy is really great in this show). Then again, ZeeNu and MaxNat have similar age gaps and started acting together at the same age. Both actors do a great job in this and because of the age gap I am glad NC scenes were not included.
It feels as if people are missing the point of the final episode. Unrequited love hurts. Even the adults are struggling with it. How do you expect high schoolers to manage? For Jian Tian: This âbig emotional responseâ (as some people said) makes total sense. Think about it, youâve finally been vulnerable with someone. Youâve open your heart and trusted someone to stay by your side. Then they start ghosting you. You are putting the pieces together and it seems as if that person might have romantic feelings for you (which you might have back), but instead of talking to you, they run away. They are so desperate to get away from you that they are willing to get yelled at by every teacher and leave all their friends behind. Yeah, that would feel like shit. For Sheng Wang: You finally have a place to belong. You have a best friend and know you have a place to stay (after always moving schools). You have another family member after feeling so alone. Then you realize you love that person. A guy. Your brother. Yeah, it might scare you a bit. You are stuck in this terrible place and you canât talk to anyone about it. The best thing you can do is put distance between you (like everyone does when they feel heartbroken). So now youâre alone. You canât talk to your best friend. Youâve switched classes, so youâre the new kid again. And as all queer kids know, hiding who you are hurts so much. The fear can be all consuming. So you build a wall to protect yourself.
It literally ends with: âCan you try to get back?â âOkay.â
