Very down-to-earth and uplifting love story

I loved the fact that the characters are very three-dimensional and well-rounded people, who have real lives as well as their romance. I often found this drama quite relaxing to watch, although there were a couple of sad episodes. The leads' journey of getting together was quite believable in the end. There were a couple of moments I felt unsure about at the time but after getting to the end and seeing how their past experiences have shaped their behaviour, especially Xu Ziquan, it all made sense.

The business aspects of this drama were not why I watched it and I found some of it hard to follow, especially the investment banking parts. I was watching it as a romance drama although I would say it's probably 40% about business.

The supporting characters were also an unexpected plus for this series. Seeing Lin Xin Zi totally change her mindset, not only about what she's looking for in a man but how to go about finding love, is a really beautiful arc. Also the colleagues/management at Tang Ying's company were all different and interesting characters in different ways. The colleagues of Xu Ziquan were a bit plain though.

I loved the OST and the fact that there were like 4-5 ending songs which were chosen based on the mood of the ending. All of which were great! The fact that the main theme song turned up in the actual show as composed by one of the characters felt a bit strange/forced though.

I liked that the leads got together long enough before the end that you got to see a good chunk of them enjoying their relationship and growing together as a couple.

The ending was okay, a bit predictable, not super dramatic, but definitely not a bad ending.

Humour was great in this show. Some really funny moments. Also emotionally charged scenes with bad characters getting what they deserved. The start of the finale episode combined these two aspects brilliantly. You'll see what I mean when you get there :D

PS: Make sure to watch the bonus episode, which consists of scenes deleted from the main show. You can find it on MDL under "Fake It Till You Make It Special".
