I really enjoyed this drama. It felt super real and the fact that these two people who genuinely want to be the right person for each other still end up not working out, makes it more honest and relatable. I think the show does a really good job of showing that the timing can just be off, people want different things, and sometimes you just have to put yourself first even if it hurts the other person because staying together will only be detrimental to the both of you. Tugs on the heartstrings and brings the audience down memory lane!
First Love: Hatsukoi beautifully captures the giddiness, intensity, passion, and heartache your first love can bring. The production, soundtrack, and visuals were stunning and the cast was very strong. The ML & FM lead (and their younger counterparts) really played well off each other and the more emotinally heavy scenes had me crying right along with them. First Love: Hatsukoi is a beautiful drama that almost everyone can relate to because we never forget our first love and how we felt when we were with them. Was this review helpful to you?

It Got Lost in the Sauce by the End
To be blunt, this show was a bit of a letdown, especially since the first two or three episodes were very strong imo. The concept of exploring how people react when pushed to their limits when they all of a sudden had accessibility to guns, was super interesting. I understand that Kim Young-kwang’s character, Moon Baek, was meant to be a major villain and an agent of chaos, but at some point, it just stopped making sense. Suddenly he’s an arms dealer running a massive underground operation? It felt completely out of left field. The idea had potential but the execution of the show was lackluster by the end. By the end of it the show got a little lost in the sauce wanting to focus more on shock value by using excessive shootings and action scenes, than creating a coherent story. Was this review helpful to you?

Fate will always find a way
I cannot even begin to say how much I loved this drama. It stays with you after you've finished it. Even though alot of kdramas have explored time travel before, I really enjoyed the element of soul jumping also. I’ll admit that at certain points it can be hard to keep up with what’s going on, but I was hooked from the first episode. The only reason that I gave this a 9.5 and not a 10 is that I wish the drama had explained the time travel and soul jumping mechanics more clearly. I had to rewind the airport scene with Yeon-jun and Si-heon explaining the soul jumping and its specific rules at least three times before I fully understood what was happening. Also, unless I missed something, why was the cassette player so important, and why were the characters tied to that specific song? Additionally, I wish they would've given more time to the fact that before the soul jumping happened that Yeon-jun was gay before he was in a car crash. I feel like having a full episode dedicated to that subplot would've just flushed out details and would have added even more depth to the story overall. I wouldn't call the ending a traditional happy one per se, but it left me with a feeling that fate will always find a way especially if it is truly meant to be. Overall, if you go into this drama suspending your disbelief in reality and just go with it, it is an extremely enjoyable watch. Was this review helpful to you?
