idk abt the screenwriter but the reason I personally thought it could be a bl was bc earlier there was two actors displayed here, rowoon and the love interest from a bl called semantic error. since he acted in a bl before and there were only two men confirmed for the roles I assumed they were the male lead + love interest

maybe ill give it a shot again in the future. i really loved the original story and feel like, the first episode didnt do it justice, thats why i reacted even more negatively. i think if i take money heist korea as more of a spin off instead of a remake, and if the writing improves i guess it could be worth a shot, especially since i like the cast a lot. did you watch any more episodes or did you drop it?
ive watched the original and dropped this drama in the middle of the first episode. the changes the scriptwriters made are fine and all and i liked, that they 'koreanized' the plot, but the entire way the characters interact with each other is just so unnatural to me, its very obvious how theyre trying to play 'gangsta' or badass. that whole scene of the professor finding tokyo was just so cringy to me with the s*icide attempt, i couldnt continue it
