Bored out of my mind
This was so boring, I couldn't bring myself to complete this. The acting in this is so flat like especially the main couple aren't expressive at all, most of the time their face expression was just none existent. The dialog is also boring and the obsession from Taeha is just weird. I think the idea about the plot itself isn't bad but it was executed bad. Stiff acting, directing was boring, no chemistry, just overall not a good bl in my opinion.I'm not sure what else to say to this, I personally wouldn't recommend this but everyones taste is different and some people might enjoy it (which is obviously completely fine) regardless I wanted to share my thoughts because I haven't seen such a low review for this kdrama but who knows maybe someone can relate to my review 😊

This was not it
I'm someone who watches a lot action/thriller kdrama and movies but this one is one of the most disappointing I've ever seen. I get that the main lead is weak minded from the beginning and gullible but ugh. I will talk more about this in a bit as I want to go in order first. One scene that not only pissed me off because it's just so ridiculous but is just so dumb. Context: it was night and the taxi driver is driving with the serial killer, he turned on his emergency light so that someone sees and possibly helps him as he already knows at this point that the guy in the taxi is a serial killer. (though at this point he doesn't know yet that the killer kidnapped his daughter, noir that she is dead already) and two guys follow them as they noticed the emergency light. They all park down near the street, it's only the two guys, the taxi driver and the serial killer - no one else is around, as mentioned it is dark and foggy. The taxi driver takes all his courage and jumps out of the taxi, runs to the two guys (who stand now outside the car) and asks them for help and he CLEARLY states that there is psychopath in the taxi who threatens him, he asks for help clearly terrified of the guy.
Now you would think that they quickly get into the car, lock the doors and call the police and drive away right? Common knowledge right?
NO. Not only do they keep standing literally outside the car the whole time, but one of the guys literally goes up to the taxi and knocks on the windows and DEMANDS THE SERIAL KILLER TO COME OUT??? it makes no sense at all?? What was he thinking?? "Oh yes a dangerous guy who might have a weapon hey let me go talk to him!" its so unrealistic and dumb.
At that point I thought that maybe they ran out of ideas and had to add it like this to keep the story ongoing without the taxi driver getting separated from him because maybe then the story would be just done right? Wrong. That wasn't the case because the taxi driver still escaped from him.
Now again; I understand that the taxi driver went through a lot and it was a traumatic event for him. But he is a grown man, how can he believe the psychopath so easily?? When he told him that he has his daughter and will kill her if he doesn't listen?? Literally you ask for proof?? I get he had her phone but he could have stolen it or even if he had her, why not ask for proof that she is alive?? Just a "put her on the phone so I can hear/talk to her then I will come to xyz address and drive you to mukpo"?? Alright maybe he was too scared in that moment to ask BUT until the very end he didn't ask not once for proof that his daughter is alive??? That's just unrealistic. Pisses me off.
Another thing I don't like about this was that the mother committed suicide. I get it was hard on her, I get it's hard loosing your child, but it was even harder for her husband who went and saw things he will never forget again? And on top of that she clearly has a son who needed her too?? It's not unrealistic, just incredible selfish and egoistic.
Another bad thing about this, towards the end the taxi driver was supposed to get his revenge but even that didn't feel good since the serial killer kidnapped chaeri and just... JUST ugh. It was so annoying, truly.
Whats maddening is also that his wife had the audicity to say "I won't ever forgive you" to the taxi driver despite that he didn't even hurt her not the slightest way. Yes I know she was scared for her life and stuff but he didn't even get a scratch on her and she heard all the traumatic things that he went through because of her husband yet she wasn't empathetic at all.
The only thing that would have put the serial killer into pain was clearly his wife with his baby dying. That didn't happen. Yes he got the death sentence and is in prison but someone who clearly doesn't feel pain, joy, sadness ect will not by affected by it. He kept laughing. Besides, It was stated in the drama that this psychopath is genetic in his family, so basically history will repeat itself once his son is old enough.
Talking about scared, he clearly mentioned he doesn't feel fear at all, that he is sooo fearless yet in the same context he is too scared to drive a car by himself because of that bus incident? It makes no sense once again.
I don't understand the good reviews on this, I know taste can differ a lot but I'm sure that people can't deny that many things in this don't make sense.

Honestly I don't know what's worse
All the fatshaming in this kdrama that was so over the top orThe fact that the ML is an alcoholic who doesn't even care about his own daughter at all. They barely talk to the point she can't even open up to him about her problems and especially about her mental health. She clearly has depression and thinks that it's her fault that the mom died. He only tried to comfort her later on, which was super awkward to watch, and honestly he could still care more about her than he did at the end.
You know why he stopped drinking alcohol? Which was by the way completely unrealistic too because he was addicted to alcohol for YEARS but then stops basically over night completely. No, not for his daughter to finally start being a better father NO no, but for a stranger woman. Sure he doesn't stop because of FL right away, but still pretty soon and just for her.
Personally it pisses me off. I have depression myself, I know how hard it can be to take care of yourself when you go through a hard time but he is clearly depressed and alcoholic for over a decade. It's not normal. He should go to therapy. I get it's hard but you can't just not care for your own kid?? In the drama she is around 13 years old which means she is starting puberty so that's when a parent should be there during such an important age. ESPECIALLY when she only has one parent. But it's pretty clear from start til end that his parents raised his daughter, not him, otherwise the dynamics would be different.
His daughter has better dynamics with the female lead, from the start til the end, despite that she is a stranger to her. She is the one who comforted her when she needed it. Who listened to her. Who took care of her once she started living there. Didn't even see her dad cook for her at all, but she did. How comes a woman that they only know a few weeks/months cares more for his daughter than his own dad??
I honestly don't understand how so many people genuinely don't care about this part, it pisses me off and I will give a low rating because it's an important thing in this kdrama not just a side story. Just a big disappointment.

not really worth it
I thought that the main focus will be to find aeyong (?), the kidnapped girl, but that wasn't the focus at all actually - like expected for the few small clips in the beginning of the girl (before she got kidnapped) and then in the very end, also only a few clips. Also they didn't show at all how or where or when exactly he kidnapped her noir anything else related to the kidnapping. I won't spoiler whether she was alive or not since I didn't put a spoiler tag here on purpose, in case someone wants to watch it exactly because my review is so low rated as in "it can't be that bad, right?" then those people should have the chance to do so without any spoilers. talking about no spoilers, this movie has no spoilers at all, you know from the beginning who the kidnapper is.I personally had the hopes that they would show us in the first half the "kidnapper" but then in the second half reveal that it's actually someone else but nope.. you just know from the beginning who it is. it's not an evil mastermind either.
I read a few comments before making this review, that many people knew that the pastor will be .. involved into some crimes, so I assume this won't be a spoiler, but just in case;
POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD:
the ML has at first a small misunderstanding with the villain, thinking he kidnapped his son, he finds out that's not the case after the villain almost dies. anyway the ML gets the chance to confess to his crime due to meeting with the detectives who ask him about the interaction with the guy. he doesn't admit anything. then he becomes completely delusional because he is offered a better career opportunity (idk how to word it honestly, but still) like he is ready to not only keep quite about what he did but also willing to continue his crime in the name of God, completely loosing his touch to reality. he also finds out that his wife is actively cheating on him, having a whole affair, he forcibly makes her confess it to him and for God to forgive her - but only so he can keep his job opportunity, not out of love lmao.
of course the ML also gers lucky multiple times to not get caught by for example the dashcam, cctv, or literally by a witness - and that multiple times and it's literally just pure luck, not even because he is smart or anything, this is so underwhelming in my opinion.
also notice how, 99% of the time, Koreans use Christian religion for those kind of thriller kdrama? I have watched many already, some better than others, but so far I never came across a kdrama that uses for example Buddhism, Muslims or any other religion, I just wonder why? I'm personally not that much into religion, not an atheist either, but what's the hyper fixing on Christian religion?
SPOILER END
Last thing that I have to say is .. some movies are basically "boring" for a specific amount of time on purpose, so the viewers get the hope that the end will be good, like they are doing it for the grande final, a climatic end - THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH THIS MOVIE. the end is quite underwhelming as well, just like the overall movie, so if you have hopes that the end will make it worth it - it really doesn't.
I can recommend for example "mouse" with Lee seungi, in case some people who read this haven't watched it yet, it's a dark thriller as well that includes religion basically (but not kidnapping if I remember right, other crimes are happening there tho) and that one has many plot twists.
in the end this is just my personal opinion, as mentioned before anyone can watch it regardless of my review, I doubt this movie will be popular in any means, I just wish I had read such a review before giving it a chance.

Maybe it's just me but...
this just didn't hit hard at all in my opinion. as many already mentioned, it definitely felt rushed despite that they had multiple years to do this.none of the characters had depth to them. the fighting scenes looked very scripted and honestly most of them don't even make sense...? for example one of them gets stabbed and the wound bleeds but is able to fight against multiple guys but okay here you can still say "that's the adrenaline" but right after that more guys get there and this wounded person fights them on his own completely til they are all k.o ???
I also can't stand seeing it when someone chokes another person and they only move their arms like ... aim for the damn eyes??? if s/he chokes you from behind you just keep punching with your elbows to their ribs it's genuinely not that hard, especially with all the adrenaline rush in the moment.
and the most ridiculous one was when x and y were fighting, x kept hitting y who couldn't even dodge his punches and yes y ended up severally wounded and bleeding (not from stabs) and almost collapsed but then OUT OF NOWHERE he gained his strength back and put up a real fight against x, who then also ended up severely injured. also after their fight you can see him limping for a few seconds and after opening the door he walked as if nothing happened as if his body isn't in pain at all.
is it seriously just me who picks up on such things? I haven't read a comment noir review pointing this out therefore it lowkey feels like I'm nitpicking this drama but that's not what I'm trying to do I'm just here to express my opinion and honestly I've watched many better action/thriller kdrama/movies before so maybe that's why I pay attention to such things. the movie was better in my opinion, although also not the best, but this just wasn't it for me
p.s I purposefully avoided mentioning any names (like who fights against who) to not spoiler anyone accidentally 😁

made it on my favorite kdrama list!
I can recommend this kdrama to anyone who likes action, fighting scenes that aren't overly serious, friendship and overall a lighthearted kdrama. if you are bored you should check it out, even if action isn't your favorite genre, for me it was definitely worth it. I like that it's not similar to weak hero class since that one is darker and and shows way more violence - don't get me wrong tho I love whc as well!the acting was good, the effects made it funny, loved the humor in this too and the OST is a banger that's the only ost that I never skipped lmao. it was also refreshing to see that the ML can fight well from the start, in most bully related kdramas the ml either needs to learn it first or defend himself in other ways.
I would love a season two of this honestly!

Loving it
Definitely one of my all time favorite kdrama ever! The acting is amazing, the cast is amazing, the story is amazing. It has so much action and great friendship dynamics. Some episodes include a bit comedy which i also like, some made me almost cry or angry. Only thing i didn't like was when someone chose to not punish xyz, but ig thats on me.This is one of the few kdrama's that I can keep on re-watching multiple times. I think my favorite episode was the last one, especially the scene where Kim doki jumps out of the car, it was so badass!

Check it out if you haven't yet!
A really good kdrama that portrays multiple feelings such as sadness, happiness but also comedy. With strong friendship and romance and good plot twist. I especially liked the chemistry/dynamics between the two male leads!I really liked this one even though I'm more of the action and thriller type of kdrama lover, but this was so wholesome and has a really good cast and story and I'm so glad I checked it out! Once you start watching you can't stop, I definitely recommend it!
I didn't expect the ending but it was good

It's a good movie!
First of all i didn't like the gruesome scenes with the animals, i dont think it was necessary to add them. Though the movie is still amazing, i was rooting the whole time for the main lead to be able to safely escape although i also didnt like how he bashed out on the younger solider and even hit him when all he wanted was to escape and go to his family as well. For me personally it was obvious from the beginning that the younger solider would get hurt and die, its just unrealistic that both of them would make it successfully. I liked his character but not his decisions, it felt like he was holding the main lead back the whole time with his impatience. I'm sorry to say this but it was so dumb of him to get the necklace in such a risky situation and then dying because of exactly that. He should have kept hiding, he could have just got another necklace later on after escaping like even if it had some sort of special meaning to him dont put an object over your life? I dont like how he gave all the burden to the main lead by telling him to give the necklace to his family. How would he even find them? What would he say to them? "Oh yes here your son lost his life so you can have this necklace instead" just so ugh in my opinion.
Now to the main leads crazy ex, this guy seriously needs some therapy. He is so obsessed with his ex to the point he wanted to have him in a different section thingy so that he can be closer to him. He didnt accept a no either from the main lead, ge is so forceful and obsessive. It was also so unnecessary of him to shoot him so many times at the end, it actually shows that it wasnt real love but really just obsession and about power, well no wonder our main lead broke up with him. I'm just glad it was a happy end, the end almost made me cry. Definitely a movie worth watching.
I personally also find it iconic that in the song there is a line about taxi driver - which lee jehoon played in and is definitely worth watching too!

love it so far!
loving that it's not censored! usually I finish a drama before writing a review but tbh so far it's a 10/10 from me, wish I could already binge it completely but trying to be patient even if it's though lmaosome might not like how assertive the top is, me too in a few scenes, that's up to everyone else though. personally I can handle this better than the mama/papa thing in pitbabe
some of the acting is a bit over the top but honestly that's not a big issue, I still really enjoy this blog and love especially that they added kisses! I'm excited for the upcoming episodes, if nothing ruins this within the drama itself, it could easily become one of my favorites!

Definitely recommend this one!
Alright so I will be honest - first of all I started watching this because I ran out of things to watch, so I wasn't interested in this from the start. To be even more honest - I almost dropped this, as I was watching the first episode I felt a bit bored and thought to myself 'oh no, another drama that will focus only on romance' not to mention that I usually don't watch dramas with superpowers included. But once I started watching the second ep, I got more and more hooked honestly. I'm very glad that I didn't drop it.Personally I think some of the background stories of the parents were a bit unnecessary, I wasn't that interested in everyones story aside from the main couple and juwon. I must say that from the parents/adults my favorite character is definitely juwon. He went through so much pain (literally, but also emotionally) and I'm sure if I was in his shoes I would have given up, but he is such a strong character with good intentions and just.. Wow. I still feel sorry for everything he went through but it made him stronger. His story was the one that touched me the most. Definitely one of my favorite characters of all times in kdrama.
From the students I definitely like bongsok, but the female lead as well! Both of them seem like genuinely nice kids and so love able characters. I just wish the fl would have had more scenes at the end when.. You know THAT happened.
[SPOILERS ALERT]
The only thing I disliked was that the guy with missing finger (forgot his name) had to die in the end. I completely understand his point of view, that he felt guilty for surviving as only one as everyone else was executed, that he had to go there with his comrades. It just made me cry because he clearly didn't hurt anyone even though he could have and he could have started a new life there too, of course I'm also somewhat sad about his friends since they showed their backstory too that they aren't just evil villains but humans too who were forced to do this in order to survive and/or protect their family. They all had no choice, though they wanted to kill the innocent children so I don't feel that sad for them as for the guy I already mentioned.
This kdrama made me feel so many different emotions and that's just good story writing right here, whether you like the end or not. The dynamics and chemistry between all those characters and the acting itself was spot on, so I truly recommend this - watch it, give it a try, it's worth it!

chaotic mess
I've anticipated this movie for a few months now and idk what I expected but not this-on one site its interesting because there aren't that many movies about streaming (as in thriller genre ofc) and I liked that most of it was actually "streamed" by the ml
but there are multiple situations that I genuinely don't understand, why was it added for example there was a scene where he was parking down and a guy asked him to not park there then after a small argument he started undressing in public til underwear - aware that he's being filmed too and tried jumping on the car. like wrf 😭
i don't mind comedy mixed with thriller if it fits but shouldn't it make sense??
it just got very weird in multiple scenes but I don't want to spoiler anything so I'll leave it at that!

Waiting for season 3
Season two was amazing as well, personally the first and second episode were my favorite of this kdrama as it was so intensive and just wow. Lee jeehon definitely became my favorite actor, he can potray so many different characters and emotions so well but the cast in itself was amazing. I didnt like it too much that they added a villain into this as it wasnt that interesting as the episodes where they have to punish other people, but it didnt ruin the season either and I'm sure some people liked this addition so I wont give it less stars because in the end it was still an amazing season and definitely worth watching. Looking forward to season 3!Was this review helpful to you?

Perfect! I really liked it
This movie had amazing action, nice friendship dynamics and even a bit humor! Though if you are sensitive to the topics of sexual assault / rape (especially towards children) then you shouldn't watch this movie alone.I personally really like that they stocked to material art until the end, expect for a few expectations where he used a teaser or threw things at the guys, instead of only using it halfway through and then sticking to only weapons. I have seen a lot of kdrama and movies that involved too many guns which in my opinion is a bit unnecessary, maybe I'm just a bit old-fashioned in this but I prefer my action with proper fights so I definitely wasn't disappointed in this movie at all.
I also really like that none of the friends of the main lead didn't get hurt or that there wasn't any "betrayal" kind of thing. Also really like that the main cast didn't smoke at all, I've seen a lot movies/dramas where they made one or multiple of the main cast smoke so they seem more "badass" which is so unnecessary in my opinion.
I also really liked that it was a happy end, as I personally don't like sad noir open ends.
Only thing I didn't like is that one incident but nothing I would give less stars for.
I kept rooting for the ML the whole time especially because he has a good personality and good intentions, very empathetic and selfless.

Unrealistic and underwhelming
Just... a big no. I really liked this actor in the drama "vincenzo" so i was looking forward to his new movie but honestly? That was the most disappointing thing i saw of this actor so far. Not because of his acting, but that he would accept and play such a role in such an unrealistic anx underwhelming story. I just couldnt bring myself to finish it, every minute of it felt like 5 or 10 minutes. Dropped it around half of it. Just a no.I thought this would be an interesting thriller, instead the focus rather became their romance which - is unrealistic as well. It wasn't love at first glance noir did they have good chemistry or enough time to bond. He would risk everything for her, even took/tried a drug asking her how she can consume it when it tastes bad, despite having enough problems of his own. The writers tried to make her an independent woman but failed big time.
The action could have been better as well, not just him getting beaten up by anyone he meets basically.
