Bruh I have VIP on Viki, I'm subscribed to Netflix, Viu and other official sites. That's where I watch my dramas.

Youku app sucks and it's incovenient so I'm not paying for it.

I'm sorry but if the app was launched over a year ago and it's still under development then it's not a good app, plain and simple. It doesn't even have the search functionality, the most basic of functions. People are having problems with casting because the app doesn't fully support it. I tried Chromecast and it doesn't work. I tried downloading a bunch of other apps still doesn't work. After that I just got fed up and uninstalled it. I still watch on Youtube even without subs cause I'm a fan of Yibo.

But honestly speaking how do you expect people to go through so many hoops just to access proper subbed content of the show? It sucks and I'm going to keep saying it until they get their shit together.
Anyway I'm just telling the truth. Lots of international fans who wanted to watch it already lost interest cause they couldn't be bothered with all the inconvenience.

I can see that some users speak avout youku application and want to provide info and share my views.First of all,…
Watching it on their official app is not the problem. People are willing to do that and even pay for membership. The problem is that they should have made sure the app is fully-functional when they decided to make it the only accessible platform for subbed episodes. Or at least had the foresight to announce it earlier for users to test and give feedback. But no, they did this right when SDC aired and while the app is still ‘under development’. Knowing that most of their international fans came from past seasons of SDC, that's negligence on their part. Removing accessibility on their official YouTube, which a lot of users paid for VIP as well to watch SDC is not good cause they failed to communicate and transition users properly to the App.

I don't know exactly what people's reactions were when Viki launched their app but as far as I know they had a fully-functional website in English (which almost everyone can access already) even before the app was created. Their app was there for better convenience to mobile-device users. Meanwhile, Youku made it less convenient for international fans by removing the subbed content from their most accessible platform (their Youtube Channel) and directing people to an under-developed App, which currently is causing more headache for a lot of users.

Also, just because the show is perfectly accessible to you at the moment through the app doesn't mean it is for others, we don't have the same phones, devices, preferences or whatever else. This is why large-scale feedback is necessary. And all feedback, whether that's positive or negative should be welcomed. It helps these companies to improve and also be accountable. Frankly, Youku should have been prepared to receive those when they decided to create an international app, especially if they planned to half-ass it.
