Romance has been looked down upon because it is traditionally written by women for women and values the parts of life that are seen to be valued by women (emotional connection, family bonds, etc.) This criticism is unwarranted, as just like any other genre, romance has quality examples and poor examples. The tropes and common motifs of romance are not a weakness, but a structure in which the story lives and they provide the framework for the storytellers to breathe. How well they use these structures will lead to the potential quality of the book, film, or drama. Long live the romance!!

Sam Lin and YU are doing an amazing job with this series. I wish it was twice as long, as it does feel a bit rushed, but the chemistry between the two leads more than makes up for it. I could watch these two fight and make up for hours!

This could have been a solid show, but the complete lack of chemistry between the two leads just ruined it. And they seemed to have LESS chemistry as the show went on? So weird. I have no knowledge of any actual issues, but this felt like Bright and Win just didn't want to touch each other. And I'm not even talking anything racy. Just genuine hugs that look real. Or hold hands because you want to touch your boyfriend. I'm interested to see these two in F4:Thailand just because I wonder if they'll have more chemistry in het pairings. They clearly need to move away from BL.

It's very rare for there to be obvious product placement in US shows. Sometimes shows with have a character using a product (eating Lays chips for example) but the camera will not focus on it nor will characters ever talk about it. In US movies and TV it's considered tacky to have any product placement. (But we have a TON of commercials, so the advertising does happen.) US TV is also not allowed to have commercials for alcohol or cigarettes, although characters can drink and smoke in shows. And any commercials for medications have to have a very long list of possible side effects included. I hope this helps!
