Well considering 90% of the movie is about rape im pretty sure the average person will fixate on what the movie is about.

I do have sexual trauma. I don't see why i need to prove that to you but lemme tell you my story since your so infatuated with it. When i was in sixth grade i was taken to a stairwell by a boy much older than me and groped and touched and it was really fucking traumatizing. A serbian film is art but all film is but its not a film where you just say "That was a fucking banger brody lets watch that shit with the fam" I didnt watch drugs to the very end and i skipped most of the scenes because it was fucking repulsing. same for a serbian film but a serbian film didnt have an audience of delusionals trying to justify it in its fucking filth.

My problem is your saying that people who dont like the film are wrong and privileged because they dont want to watch a film about rape. I think as a victim of sexual abuse i should have a larger say in whether or not this film is ok. Appreciating a movie like you say you do is different from saying those who dislike it didnt understand it or are privileged "Political police". I think the way you went about showing your like of this film deff wasnt they way to go. If you like the film all the power to you but dont use it as a way to break down the people who have valid reasons not to. Even if you arnt a victim you can still dislike the film and not be wrong. And a comparison of a serbian film isnt a comparison of the two films its a comparison between the audience reactions, the content in it, and how it is digested. okay i understand where your coming from but like being on the verge of committing suicide doesnt excuse you from your wrong doings especially for things like rape. Take a Serbian film for an example. A drastic change but still a fair comparison due to their similar content and somewhat similar subject matters in parts. A Serbian film is ended by the father who had raped both his wife and child on accident because he was in a porn industry that paid well and he would do anything even rape and kill for the money so his family could live happily. He kills his whole family in the end. Now lets compare this story. A man tried to kill himself. He then gets kidnapped and tortured and raped by a man who is also suicidal. Where does something that can excuse anally raping someone because "It gives their life purpose". Now me personally as a woman who isnt too fond of the idea of being anally raped and has hands on experience with rape considering every 1 in 8 of us are raped and i have experienced sexual trauma i think this comment is like. Idk highly disrespectful. Because it kinda puts in place the idea that its okay to rape someone if your both suicidal. Like "Oh yea hes gonna kill himself anyway might as well fuck him in the ass without his consent". This just sounds like your way of projecting. When I watched this film i thought two things one "What the actual fuck" and two "This is like a by the book case of what we call Stockholm syndrome" Stockholm syndrome is commonly described as when a captive forms a strong emotional bond with a captor. This is exactly what happens in the film. Even if like you think they love each other its still a rapist and the raped. Its still a captor and the captive. Its still the perpetrator and the victim. Bringing it back around to a Serbian film. You may not understand why i brought it up. But here is why. A serbian film shows a man at his lowest and he does everything he can to get out of it he rapes and kills. But nobody is in the comments trying to glamorize it. why? because it shows it as it is, blood, guts its one of the most disgusting films ever made. It made me throw up three times while watching it. But thats how its meant to be. Reality at its fucking finest. But what are you living in? That's a fucking fantasy land and you need to snap out of it.
