I wonder if Prime Viewers especially in the West recognized Park Min Young from Marry My Husband which was really…
Marry My Husband was just superb. Its true. I think we have to go back to My Private Life in 2019 for a good natured fun romcom from Park Min Young. Contract for Love and Marry My Husband were both superb but they were melodramas not romcoms.

Am enjoying every minute of Confidence Queen. And Min Young absolutely is a queen.

Everyone I know including me is binging the last 2 episodes of Bon Appetit Your Majesty back to back today. There are many comments on the social media sites such as Reddit about viewing the episodes back to back. Most of Europe has to wait until Monday timeframe for Korean with local language translations. So lower Saturday ratings this final weekend don't surprise me at all.

Season 2 of Bon Appetit Your Majesty first bro! If it ends according to the webtoon which it is based they easily can do Season 2 with a reverse "fish out of water" main plot but by no means are they even restricted to that if they decide to go with a 2nd season.

Reading that the show has already passed 650 million viewing hours on NetFlix and has potential to reach 1 billion all on its own the production company and NetFlix would have to have rocks in their head for brains if they don't pursue a 2nd season.

Just find a way for Ji Yeong to bring along Gil Geum as well when she returns back to 2025..

If the show follows the web novel we know approximately how it is going to end. But that also sets up fantastically for a Season 2 if they decide to go that route. The fan support would certainly be there.

But if the production company and Yoon A decide to shoot for Season 2 I really hope they find a way to bring Gil Geum along. I can't imagine Ji-yeong without her young sidekick!

Edit: Finished the series. Watched it with some friends and family. So glad we discounted some of the really lame reviews posted above with their essentially "I hate Park Min Young" jealous undertone . We unanimously gave this show a 10:

- The acting was fantastic. Park Min Young was stellar but there were many, many worthy performances (see comments below).
- Great charisma between the male and female leads. They each played their characters to the hilt.
- The show gives truly satisfying complete endings to all the major character storylines. A lot of writers should be taking notes from this show. Finally instead of a 5 minute rushed conclusion we were blessed with time to savor the plot and relationship outcomes.

We felt for the Soo Min character most of the group of antagonistic characters. She was shaped by the events of her life. Whereas the other 2 characters we had no pity at all.

Truly satisfying.

----------------

On Episode 5 and enjoying every moment of it. Park Min Young absolutely slays in that dress she wore in the high school reunion scene - she looked so beautiful it is mind-boggling. Simply memorable.

A shout out goes to actress Song Ha Yoon - she was 37 at the time she acted in this role. Like PMY she looks fantastic and her acting performance was superb.

The women are really slaying it in their roles. And Lee Yi Kyung as Min Kwan is doing a great job in his role as a disturbed, over possessive boyfriend. Has to be hard to take on the role of bad guy since it sometimes really impacts your career going forward.

It is quite evident both Min Hwan and Soo Min are psychotic although they each display types of psychosis (with some overlap). So I think Ji Won's plan to marry them off will be successful and I am looking forward to watching it all play out.

When I watch something I usually research it heavily first. Marry My Husband had knock out ratings not just domestically but on Amazon Prime it slayed worldwide (it set records on Amazon Prime) and had numerous accolades from media and a 94% score at RottenTomatoes. That was all more then enough to convince me to view it even though I was already a Park Min Young fan.

I have not seen the final episode yet but I am really looking forward to it. I will confess that I found Episode 11 a bit of a challenge with all the time jumping. When viewing with English subtitles and dealing with unfamiliar names it adds a bit to the complexity.

Slapping scene at the end of #11 was magnificent.

I think this show could have gone to 14 episodes or more just for plot completion.

so what I understood is that she is actually dead before Se Ra accident and she was like her best friend in hard…
I think this is not quite correct. I will state what I think although I may not be on the right track either. I think Yu Ran was alive and was the person who brought Se Ra into the apartments per one of the scenes in Episode 11 but somewhere along the way something happened. However, I am having a trouble with some of the timeline as I had an impression that Se Ra was only unconscious after her first accident (25 yrs ago) but some of the time jump scenes had me believing it was for much longer.

What we did see from the one timeslip scene is that something happened to Yu Ran - per the police in her student room. I am thinking perhaps she committed suicide but I am not sure.

Actress Joo Bo-Young did a lovely job in her limited role as Yu Ran.

Is this a noona romance because of the age gap between ML and FL
Not really. In the show they are both close to the same age.

When Uhm Jung Hwa finally transforms she is breathtaking. Song Seung Heon is studding and I am sure the fangirls are all with elevated blood pressure. The young versions of the main characters have been less important in later episodes but Jang Da A was noteworthy. I feel bad for Lee El - it requires some fortitude to take on her role, where you are always dressed so you look a little "off" and less flattering even though theoretically your wearing expensive tailored clothing. She is doing a great job in her role as did the actress who played her younger self.

I think the show took a little bit of time to really get some steam under it. That they have to wrap up everything in 2 episodes has me a bit worried they will truly satisfactorily conclude the storylines without it being to rushed.
On Bon Appetit, Your Majesty Sep 18, 2025
This show is hitting it out of the park. Yoon A is fantastic. The worries about the Lee Chai Min are all evaporated as he is delivering a very convincing performance. The supporting characters are revealing many little delights such as Gil Geum and the actress playing the role of the Royal Food Testor . It is no wonder it is already the most viewed show this year in Korea and set a new record for the time to reach 100 million views for a non-english show on Netflix.

The show has a good shot of reaching the top 10 all time viewership for a limited series drama and possibly even squeak into the top 6.

Yoon A apparently spent 3 months undergoing some intensive cooking training prior to commencing filming and that attention to detail is showing.

The question now: did they film an alternate ending to allow for a Season 2? I saw that question being asked in the Reddit threads and I am curious as well.

Title My Youth
I am enjoying this show but I confess as I am watching it in Korean with english subtitles I found some parts particularly in the first 3 episodes confusing. The amount of flashbacks with so many different characters has been an interesting challenge to track properly. I think it was not until episode 3 that I understood that Je Yeon was a "manager" for Tae Rin vs just being her friend. And the family dynamics on Sunwoo Hae's side of matters still have me a bit perplexed.

I don't know any of the actors other than Lee Joo Myoung whom I know from the excellent Like Flowers In Sand and she looks so different here: I had no idea she was so beautiful as the two parts are completely different.

Anyways, going to stick with it. I was surprised at how Episode 4 ended as I did not think certain "matters" would be moved along that quickly.

Then don't watch. You men loving women are the main problem.
That is the truth of it. On these female dominated social sites the claws and jealousy are aweful.

half way through ep1 so good to see FL in this role. love it so far
I think she is doing fantastic and giving us many different looks. It is to bad that popular actresses such as Park Min Young get so much hate from the jealous fangirls. Park Hee Soon is also delivering a great performance.
On A Hundred Memories Sep 18, 2025
Both female leads are killing it. It is good that they cast a plain woman in one of the lead roles as it greatly adds to the believability and helps offset the fact the other lead is distractingly attractive and not likely would we find such a person working in this type of menial work.

I love dramas set in the 80s and 2000s and Shin Ye Eun is here too but I hate love triangles, specially If their…
I hear you. Love Triangle trope is lazy writing and unnecessary. It and the lack of communication trope are the low points of kdrama.
