After reading some comments below about Euijing and Junmo's flashback scenes in the trailer. I went back to rewatch the trailer for the nth time. (Not companing though) And now my impatient ass cannot help but shout that Junmo got his TWO RANK PROMOTION. Finally!!!
If you see the official trailer on youtube at 0:37 mark, you will see a scene where Junmo and Euijing are in their police uniforms and Junmo looking cowardly at Euijing. If you look closely at their uniforms, you will see their rank. They both are wearing uniforms with badge of Inspectors. So yeah they both were promoted. This means that their undercover operation was a success. And there goes down the theory of Junmo becoming a big bad guy at the end. Although it is possible that his and Euijing's relationship is going to suffer a lot and that's why they are too awkward in that scene.
I REALLY want this theory of mine to be wrong but you can also see a woman in a black dress standing next to them with a bouquet. She is the wife or mother of some other officer who is dead and is probably getting a posthumous promotion. (I'm praying it is not Junmo's hyungnim plz) 🥲
I think it is the sunglasses/ knife wielder dude. It may look like that he said no to JKC's opponent for joining him but it may be cause he wants to be a bigger fish. Case in point him being present at the right moment when JKC and Junmo were being attacked, trying to distance JKC high school confidants and taking Junmo under his wing. He is shady af.
I think JKC is also suspicious of knife wielder dude, that's why he is keeping him closer and making him feel like he trusts him. JKC is a very smart man. He probably believes in keeping friends close but enemies closer.
Everyone is stating the obvious that how JCW is slaying with his brilliant acting. Meanwhile I'm feeling sorry for my Junmo for being stuck with the wattpad romantic gang boss AKA Jung Ki Chul. Lol at this point, he deserves a triple rank promotion for signing up for that.

Lmao, coz my experience of watching dramas with 'Evil' in their titles has been nothing short of amazing. Eg: Flower of Evil, Beyond Evil, and currently The Worst of Evil.
(These are also probably the all time favourite K-dramas of any mystery and thriller lover.)

I'm not sure if they will (should?) go down the route of making Junmo a gang leader because then it will just make the show a carbon copy of the New World (movie by the creators of the show). But yes he will not be the same person by the end.
