Then...the ML started to get really famous and they recasted the FL but...there was an issue with the ML....Zhang Zehan T-T So basically we'll never get to watch the drama. It was announced in 2016 i think

back in 2016 it was really all we had with the Takumi-kun series lmao there were no healthy relationships nor good endings, it was all about abuse/non-con/cptsd/major death so it's not a surprise that some of us who watched the show back then thought it was alright. if I have to watch it again I'll probably have a fit though, and I probably should lower my rating but that means rewatching the drama and i'm not sure I have it in me :(

That's true, knowing the chinese the misunderstanding could have been dragged on for two more episodes so it's a good thing it's already over and they're starting to patch things between them. Honestly I HATE childhood sweethearts too !!! Like... alright no need for 30 episodes or two people loving each other and just proving their love for each other for 30 hours. Just give me slowburn and make them confess 5 episodes before the ending so there's only ONE angsty thing before the drama is over XD I'm not into one piece coz i don't like the graphics but i get what you mean. I do enjoy happy characters trying to stay happy despite their entire world falling apart <3 WWX is a great example of that

You're entirely right, I usually tend to simply give up when I find the ML is abusive and not 'just' possessive and sometimes the line gets blurry in chinese dramas and I still find a few really good despite everything. So it'll depend on numerous elements and whether the characters are portrayed the 'right' way. That's why I'm probably going to drop About is love for example while I've been watching really sick BLs for over a decade lol
I'm more of a Zankyou no Terror/Code Geass type of person but I get what you mean

I really thought they'd play it this way : she is embarrassed > he jumps on the occasion to tease her all the time and make her do stuff for him > she rebels > he starts liking her and stops a bit with the teasing. Instead she went full Berserker on him I was so uncomfortable and annoyed uuuuuugh c-dramas have only recently started to change so I agree. Before 2k19 they just LOVED their stupid misunderstandings

I like my men emotionally constipated, you can say it lmao don't get me wrong though, I did really like Wei Wuxian and that's how I discovered XZ so this character will always have a special place in my kokoro. But like someone said in one of the replies I got, I find that he can't show all his skills when he plays Dr.Gu so i'm not particularly impressed by the acting for now. Still, usually when the characters warm up to one another, that's when it gets more interesting so I'm waiting to see where it goes and how they'll raise the bar (for me).

I can see why and I read a few reviews you left on other dramas just to get why you'd rate some so low or so high. I hated Bad Guys because it didn't make any sense for me and I loved Bloody Monday - but you gave 10 stars to both, so I was curious as of why lol
Then again, everyone is allowed to prefer specific genres and not to like what could be a REALLY good drama because some parts don't make sense for them or seem lacking in certain areas. We also tend to have expectations for some actors we like and want to see them challenge themselves instead of playing apathetic characters. You didn't have to explain yourself to Baebaexin but I find what you said above really helpful in confirming what I originally thought : that this type of drama isn't for you and that you were not rating it so low out of hate.
If I were to rate it right now, I'd probably give it 4 stars which is why i never rate an ongoing drama. I'll wait and watch- and if i'm to drop it, i won't be rating it because some people are just being trolls and I don't want to validate their stupidity by giving it a low rating lol

Honestly last time I saw something that has even less sense than this was The Flaming Heart with Gong Jun where the frigging doctor knew he feared needles and she kept making fun of him. I'm angry just from remembering this moment XD

Honestly, it's a drama from 2016 so I'm trying to keep this in mind - from around that time the dramas were REALLY clichés (and i love some, honestly). The characters truly don't make much sense to me either and I agree that the script is quite bland. I'll probably wait until we have a bit more episodes to binge watch and see if it truly does get better.

Yessssss I really want him to be happy - he's also a lot like me so I completely relate and just hate how everyone is forcing him to stay at the hospital where he is constantly dealing with his trauma.
Don't worry, my parents are just as controlling and rude to everyone so that's why I said it's realistic and it might explain why i'm this annoyed with the female lead and her father. I feel like they started to hate Gu Wei for no reason at the club and that's what annoyed me so much. If they were fighting him because he checked on the father's file and diagnosed him a cancer then asked them to run more tests, it'd have been way less upsetting to see them fight him. It just seems like a lot of drama for no good reason...This misunderstanding is leading to situations that could be easily solved and that's why I'm disappointed. It tests my patience and I really don't have much XD
You told me she gets better with him though, so i'll still continue to give it a shot and i'll see if I complete it ! I probably might, I've missed XZ and I can't watch The Untamed for the 4th time in a year... :(
