His actual track record is the opposite with years between most of his romance projects and plenty of action, thriller, crime, and other genre work in between. He’s literally known for being one of the most versatile actors so I don’t think variety is something he and as fans need to worry about

In the last few years he’s done The Worst of Evil, The Manipulated, Queen Woo, Gangnam bside, Scandal, and Colony, with Merry Very Love and Human x gumiho being the only romance projects and they haven't even aired yet. That’s hardly him doing “only romcoms” 💀

I agree with you that korean productions have a strong domestic market and don't need to cater to western audiences. But that's also why I don't understand the argument that this kind of mature content somehow goes against what made asian dramas successful globally. Korean dramas have never been one specific type of storytelling. They can make a drama for a Korean audience that happens to be sexually explicit and still have it find a global audience, there's literally a whole new world out there that enjoy these kinda shows/movies. That doesn't mean they're copying the west or “pandering” to it...... It's just another type of story they're choosing to tell

A show having sex scenes doesn’t automatically make it porn and you’re not somehow more “enlightened” for disliking anything sexually explicit. You can simply say it’s not your taste and move on.

People can enjoy mature stories for completely different reasons just like people can enjoy romance, action, thrillers, or anything else. Also why are you even here when you already knew this show was going to be mature and sexually explicit? Nobody is forcing you to watch it.

also i saw a comment saying asian dramas only gained global recognition because they avoided this kind of content makes no sense either. asian dramas have always covered a huge range of genres, themes, relationships, and levels of maturity. One mature series existing isn’t suddenly the death of asian storytelling 😭

Even if this drama isn’t your cup of tea (aka me 😭) the acting is genuinely on another level. It’s literally just acting masters Ji Chang wook and Son Ye jin showing off. The way they use even the smallest facial expressions, the tension and the chemistry… insane. Especially Ji Chang wook… I’m literally only watching because of him like I will NEVER get tired of watching that man act.


Tho I’ll probably never watch this again cuz why is it THIS SAD?? I hate sad shows ✌🏻😭

The show isn’t even out yet, so there’s no way to know for sure whether there will be lesbian sex or not. just because someone in the comments claimed there will be, it’s still just speculation unless it’s actually confirmed so the lack of a lesbian tag makes sense

Currently watching the 8 min mbc preview for Scandal and one thing I already love as a jcw fan is seeing expressions on his face that I genuinely don’t think I’ve seen from him before. Even his tone and voice when he’s slowly approaching Lady Cho are so different from anything I’ve heard from him before..... also just from these short preview clips alone, you can tell he’s really having fun with this role

p.s {I might be biased but based on these previews alone he deserves the best actor nominations lol}
