Will Mo Xiu Yao break away from the empire like in the novel?
Hmmm the drama seems to veer quite a bit from the novel so not sure about that. I mean the drama has Ye Li revenge plot which isn't even in the novel so at this point I just think of the drama and the novel as 2 different stories.
Finally saw the first trailer. Love it! Bai Lu and Cheng Lei really look good together. Although now after the trailer, i think I can safely say it will be quite different from the novel. No matter, I'm excited for the drama.
Since we won't be getting any info on the other casts for a while, we can still dream on who we want to see in the drama, right? π. Post who you want to see in the drama. I'll start.
Liu Yihong (General Wei Xiao in The Prisoner of Beauty ) would be great as Mo Jingqi (The King/Emperor). He totally has that arrogant king aura down.
Wang Dou as Xu Qingchen (Ye Li's cousin and a great advisor who is pivotal in helping Mo Xiuyao)
Same! They changed quite a bit, her being sealed in a mountain for 8 years (sounds like a xianxia haha) and her…
Same! The special forces training was something i was looking forward to.
Also, her being 'exiled' from her family for 8 yrs literally feel like every other female empowerment drama (The Double, The Rise of Ning just of the top of my head)
They are indore shooting Kissing scene today.https://x.com/bailuniverse/status/1929461664103207069If it's true…
O wow that is fast π. Maybe thats how she makes it up for changing the storyline from the novel. Just give people plenty of kiss scenes so nobody will complain π
The plot (from IMDB) is quite different than the book. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt37096911/plotsummary/?ref_=tt_ov_pl
Sighhh that's too bad. I would still look forward to the drama but definitely need to start thinking of it as something totally different from the novel.
Looks different, this is from IMDb; Li Ye, the eldest daughter of the Ye family, married into the dilapidated…
Unfortunately I think we'll have to think of the drama as just loosely based on the novel. Which is too bad because there's already sooo many stories of FL exacting revenge.
So excited with the official announcement of Bai Lu! Hope to read Cheng Lei's announcement tomorrow. A bit bummed that they seemed to have changed the plot (especially re: Ye Li's background and her revenge thing). I just hope they don't change Ye Li and Mo Xiuyao's relationship dynamics too much.
I agree with you! I haven't finished the full novel yet but I am just over halfway. When I first heard the Niu…
60 eps minimum for the expansive storyline. So yeah dunno.what they will put in 40 eps. I hope they don't take out the part where Ye Li trains special soldiers using her special forces method. Would love to see kickass Ye Li more.
How I wish we could still have Ye Li with her modern warfare tactics in Mo Li.

(We can wish, right? That the drama will be 60+ episodes split into 2 seasons π)
