This was probably the best vampire BL series I’ve watched but the last episode definitely was disappointing. I felt like it was pretty rushed, which again, is always my complaints with series. The last episode is where everyone tends to fumble because they don’t know how to wrap things up, which would be fine if it’s intended for a second season but most of these are not.
I’m a little confused on what happened when James was dying. Is he a reincarnation of Ken’s first love? and he witnessed him becoming a Nour? Is James part Nour?? It felt like it was implied to an extent because Chita apparently only killed other Nour and then showed that it was him who killed James dad, so was James dad Nour? I don’t even understand still what Chita’s purpose was in killing everyone, even with his backstory. because the flashback to when he picked up Tee (i think that was his name) and had Pear kidnapped in the back… like none of that made sense, why didn’t he immediately just kill them both if that was his goal? Also when Chita and Dr. Ji had their dying moment, it was so long.. like with as fast as Ken was going he should’ve already been there before they finished that whole conversation. I was expecting more of a fight scene. When James met with Dr. Ji’s brother too, hello???? Are you even sad about your brothers death? Felt weird that he didn’t even seem super concerned that his brother had even become Nour except for when he attacked him. He seemed more upset finding out his brother was dating a man. I wish we got more fluff and a little more clarity overall. The rainbow thing was cute like two episodes ago and I thought James mentioning he sees a rainbow in front of him about Ken and then showing us what his auora looks like was cute but honestly what was the deal with that!!! Anyway, 8/10 still because for about more than half of the episodes it was really good. Boss was a really good actor but Tongtong… I feel like he’s very talented. Especially comparing his character as Ken to his character in the wicked game. Legit hated him in that series and now I’m obsessed with him as Ken.
Within the first five minutes I was crying and for the remainder of the episode it never stopped, tears the entire time
I really wish more people would give Gelboys a chance, it isn’t a typical BL but it has something so special about it. I would lie if I said I wasn’t worried for season 2 once finding out Boss Kuno wasn’t going to be the director and even more worried when I found out the premise, it seemed so out of left field for me. But upon watching, it still had the same Gelboys charm and even if it wasn’t as realistic as the first season, the 2nd season definitely cemented itself into my heart still. The scenes from present time where it switched older gelboys into their younger selves again, bawling my eyes out. I really loved how they concluded everything and felt like the pacing was good and nothing felt rushed. I feel like a lot of series tend to have trouble with the final episodes and everything tends to feel smushed together but they pulled the finale off so well, nothing felt like it didn’t have a point to it. I am going to miss you Gelboys 🤍
What if I dislike the brother? Should I get your approval first? 😏People are allowed to have different opinions…
I don’t care whether you like him or not.
I didn’t say people weren’t allowed to have different opinions. From a realistic standpoint though, I am concerned on what people find excusable because blaming an annoying character and hating him far more than the main lead who’s an actual terrible person, felt concerning to me and how their views irl could be. Some people’s comments aren’t just “simply disliking” they’re really extreme. I’m not stopping anyone from sharing their opinions though or trying to morally police anyone, I’m sharing my own thoughts here based off some of the discourse happening.. which is kind of the point of being able to share comments and discuss with others.
I didn’t say anyone needed permission to like or dislike anyone. Even I still like Lu Feng as a fictional character and have still enjoyed the toxicity of this series, as I grew up reading most boy love series displaying nothing but toxic behavior. It’s nothing new. I think what’s important is just remembering it is fictional and I just genuinely hope people wouldn’t excuse this behavior irl because in fandom spaces, that often happens.
