Well, both of these are quite different. You are my lover friend is more mature while smile is code is more cute and clumsy. Another thing is that SC is focused on exploring emotions and personal growth while YAMLF is about the friendship, love and career growth of the leads. But both are really light hearted and humorous.
I would recommend you to watch smile code coz for me it was a more of a fun watch. My reasons being, shen yue is my ultimate favorite and secondly I'm not a fan of friends to lovers(YAMLF)

Are any of you guys watching anything else (i don't like historical dramas) ?

I'm also a big shen yue fan😊. I was actually waiting for this drama. But i usually stop dramas if i feel they are getting laggy. And i really don't want to cry🫠

But it just gets sad and more sad right? That's why i decided to stop. I'm not really in the mood for those sad episodes, especially since it's her mom.
But I'll probably watch it while I'm waiting for when the phone rings. It would be awesome if someone recommends me good Chinese dramas(I don't like historical dramas)

But I'm still gonna rate it a 9.5 becoz till now I actually enjoyed it. Lin yi & Shen yue was the perfect cast and second leads were also really good. The stand up comedy was not that good, but I feel like that's just a language barrier.

I'm on ep 27 and I'm thinking of dropping it. Should I continue? Is there anything more than what happens with her mom and their "wedding" (if it is there)? I love the leads but still..
