That was before coming to Fucheng. (Though I believe she came back just because she was missing xiaolu based on her thinking which was revealed at ep26) after talking with those workers she sincerely wants to help them. Now she want to achieve success for both of these reasons.
I watched the whole drama and didn't find a single second where Bai Lan gave chance/hints to any other guy other than Xiao Lu. I really don't understand why people are pissed at her. They broke up but when Xiao Lu put his arms around her to comfort her, she never refuses. But she never let other guys to touch her, and she's strict from the start.
I guess everyone is misunderstanding Xiao Lu thinking he is sacrificing his own business for the girl. But you are forgetting the point that the future factory and the workers depend on Bai Lan's success. Xiao Lu is helping her for both reasons.
Just resumed watching this. I know that Bai Lan wants to succeed on her own but at this point she's just blinded…
I think you missed the point of why she is sticking to this. If she gives up, the factory and the workers will go down with her. She promised them to revive the factory.

I didn't see anything like that! 2 lovers met after 5years. It's been 5years!! So both of them can't start chasing their partners so easily. Even LXL who was crazy about BL, couldn't start chasing after her like he did 5years ago. That's reality. They both love each other in their hearts. That's why they never dated in those 5years with other people. When they were in a relationship, they both gave their best to maintain that. Did you neglect the things BL did? BL knows her boss for 5years, they're business partners for 5years. As her boss never really crossed his line before(in those 5years), she talked to him like friends. You're saying FL became selfish. Deep inside, I'm sure she's back in Fucheng because of LXL. She wanted to help the factory, wanted to help it's development. Her boss was the one who did the conspiracy behind her back. It's a good 1990s drama. It has a good story. Cinematography is also nicely done. But some comments are making it looks like a horrible one! You're just confusing the future watchers 😑
