One reason why the new teams got a new member was because their team is new so the members aren't adjusted yet with the training while OG team has been training for almost a year if I'm not mistaken so their bodies are more adjusted now compared to when they started. If you noticed in S01, there are teams with 7 members too while most of them have 6 members only.
