A powerful drama highlighting social issues
Real talk when I first heard about this show I wasn’t exactly hyped. I’m a big Yang Mi fan so just seeing her vibe with Ou Hao was enough to get me to tune in. I wasn’t expecting some deep character arcs or stuff that hardcore drama nerds geek out over. I just wanted a chill realistic vibe set in that time period ya know? My expectations were lowkey but man I was shook once I started watching. Some scenes dragged a bit so I skipped ‘em but it didn’t mess with the story since the dialogue wasn’t make-or-break.Yo I was all in for how they showed the two sisters Xiu Xiu and Su Su. Hit me right in the feels ‘cause I got some tension with one of my own sisters. Also like I dropped in a comment somewhere the show dives into social and legal stuff which was super moving and hit home hard.
Little by little I got hooked ‘cause the depth felt so real. Haven’t read the novel so no clue how it stacks up but cinematography script and character designs? Straight-up felt like real life
Totally recommend it if you’re down for a heavy emotional drama with family vibes and a touch of romance. This show was my summer buddy in August :)

I love everything about this drama. It’s honestly a masterpiece....acting, the directing chemistry between the leads. I’m also obsessed with their voices lol It feels like every character here actually makes sense and acts like a real human beingI’m honestly in love with this drama It makes my summer in July 2025 feel extra special

A Hidden Gem You Shouldn't Miss!
I picked up this masterpiece right after finishing Against the Current, and Liu Xueyi shined even brighter here!Why this drama is so good:
Smart Characters: What I loved most is that none of the characters were written as dumb. Everyone had their own clear perspective, depth, and purpose for the path they chose—something that many dramas lack nowadays. I ended up getting emotionally attached to the whole cast!
Natural Humor & Great Acting: The story balances emotional moments and comedy so well. The humor felt totally natural and not cheesy at all. And once again, Liu Xueyi’s character completely stole my heart!
Anime-like BGM & Beautiful Dialogue: The background score was top-tier—at times, it almost gave me anime vibes, and I honestly loved it even more than the main OSTs. The dialogue was beautifully written too.
Final Thoughts:
It’s such a pity this drama didn’t get huge hype internationally. I never saw any edits of it on TikTok or Instagram, which is why I missed it back in 2025. But watching it now in 2026 was worth every second!
My only wish? I really wanted to see more scenes featuring the male lead’s spiritual tools!
