Its doing great and very popular so far among netizens in the internet world and social media. Topping every charts. It could because the ML is a liuliang but I do not think only bcos of that. This have the same vibe as Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty, which is very popular type of genre at the moment. Not only ML fans, it seems to have received positive reviews from general cnetz audience as well. Im not a fan of ML FL myself, but I really like the story. And I think the production is very good quality. Cnetz also mention the director is director of 2009's Chinese Paladin 3, so they excited abt that, and proven it has same quality as that classic drama. However, I do not think this drama's popularity and success have reached anything beyond that, bcos its not showing on TV, for one and its just starting. We have to give it more time to see how it will go from here and if it will get any more success than this. So far, I would say, its just doing very well.
Surprisingly, this drama got better and better. I really like the 3rd story, people in that inn are soooo eerie, I like it hahah. Its different feel than horror. This one is just creepy eerie. Wu Niang actress doing a great job!
I gradually start shipping the lead cp. Feels natural. In the beginning, they really just strangers and now they start to be familiar with each other. Nothing rushed. I like the relationship development flows naturally together with their interactions during each case investigation.
Just wants to know everyone's opinion here. How do you think it will end with Zhong Wei and Han Qing at the end of the drama? 1. Zhong Wei appears and happy ending. 2. Zhong Wei appears but involved as a criminal so he is arrested. 3. Zhong Wei appears but dies protecting Han Qing at the end. 4. Zhong Wei appears but both of them dies at the end. 5. Zhong Wei is already dead since two months ago, they will find the corpse. 6. Zhong Wei still disappear and never found, Han Qing continues to look for him.
Ep10 ending, aw damn Its a family soap opera now i guess :D The evil step sister, of course! I will be honest, this is an unexpected plot twist for me, i know its cliche but I just did not expect this drama to have that kind of dramatic family soap opera plot twist, lol, i thought its just gonna be a super straight serious police mystery drama But im happy as i love some soap opera plot twist hahah i did think Li Xiaoran is too big of an actress to just be the FL's sister :D oh boy should have guessed by then Also i did think little Han Qing was super mean to her step sister, and I was impressed that despite her little sister was super annnoying, she is very nice to her when they grow up now hahaha i should have guessed it So step sister is behind all the mystery, she probably have killed Zhong Wei too? im guessing she really hate Han Qing deep inside and just want to take away everything everyone from her. And is she lovers with the killer, I wonder? Or is he a half brother of some sort??
As a big fan of Ruyi's Royal Love in Palace, this drama is disappointing for me. Anyone has recommendation of other imperial harem dramas? I have watched other two. Legend of Zhenhuan was OK. I didnt like Story of Yanxi Palace.

At first, I was shipping Jinrong/Lord so hard. But the heat kinda gone after ep15,lol. I am now more curious abt Keling and A Si bcos of their ending in ep24. Keling/A Si ended up giving me alot more afterthought and left deeper impression.
Which one is your favorite character? And the reason?
My fav is Young Lord, he is very funny and got a lot of super funny scenes. Love his scenes with Li Tengyun like when they had to hide the fact Prince has gone out. The actor Chang Long has great comedic timing too and I feel he is such a solid casting for the role. For me, this drama become enjoyable since ep3 since that is the episode he first appeared, lol.
Du Ruyu were helping her daughters to escape by climbing the wall, but she had no intention to escape with them. She was planning to stay in the house alone. Does anyone know the reason why?
Watch out for mini drama The Bald Man 绝顶. Its by the same company 春风画面. It has A Si actor as one of the MLs. Li Tengyun actor as supporting actor. Peilan actress and Keling actress as guest roles.

That is a very open ending for Keling and A Si. "Lets temporarily breakup" Really too bad for me! Bcos I was really hoping for Keling to enter the palace, so they can start mini parody of the imperial harem drama for 2nd season hahaha But I am glad this is the ending for them, they are both still very young, their family situation and social status difference easily complicates their relationship, they need to grow up and mature first before they can make the correct choices and decisions, or at least, responsible decisions. Keling is probably the most hated sister on Weibo. She is the youngest of many sisters. Most youngest siblings are spoiled and think they can get anything they want. I find her character unique and interesting but I don't blame anyone who hates her bcos she has serious attitude problem. Thats why Im happy with this outcome. She said she need to understand how to help and support her family first before she can become a heroine. This is a small step of growth for her. She is probably the sister who experiences most growth among the four. From dressing roughly to dressing as a girl properly. From doing anything she likes to wanting to help her family. If there is a 2nd season, maybe she can have a new love interest. But there is also high possibility for A Si to come back, bcos the royal prince is a good plot device to shake things up for the Chun family, haha, for climax purposes like Ep23
