I do see her as a young lady who is from a lower economic background. She is smart to know that education is the way out for women. I can see her fighting against her mother's wishes of marrying young. I also can feel her pain when the childhood friend of Hechan said so many mean things to put her down, but she stood up to her. I can see her eyes in pain and her voice raising at the bully, so to me Liang Jie did a fine job in her character. Yes, there is room for improvement, but overall she portrayed the character well for me.

I totally agree that the leads have great chemistry. They are a nice looking couple who stood up against societal conventions and rules to be together. You can see the progression in their characters and as a couple along the way. He becomes a great general and she becomes a teacher. Both grown into amazing independent loving people!

I love this drama after watching the first few the characters started out with misunderstandings. The female lead played by Liang Jie becomes stronger in her role as she stood up to the people who tried to suppress her and put her down. She stood up to the bullies like the Duke's mom, the caretaker Momo, and the second love interest with grace and dignity. The Duke also fought for the right to be with the woman he loves which is so powerful for that era. Well done to the lead actors!

Liang Jie is a very good actress. I am also watching her in The Eternal Love 3. You can see her versatility and ability to change characters. The script for this drama is not the best for her to play a character who is weak at first, but as you go into later episodes you can see her becoming a strong character who stood up to societal conventions. I loved that she slapped the 2nd love interest character with dignity and strength.
